The FRAQTALS Story

Several years ago, I decided I was going to make a full time business out of screen printing. I had only a hand-full of clients but was tired of my day job and figured I’d take a shot at being an entrepreneur. I had acquired a manual screen printing machine from a friend that was tired of the business and let it go for a fair price. It was a standard 1 station 4 color press.

I was contacted to submit a bid for a large order of 400 shirts for a mariachi conference to be held in a few weeks. This was my largest potential order and would be a great client that would jump start my business. When I received the design, it was a 5 color image on black shirts. This meant I was unable to produce this job because I only had a 4 color press. I was bummed. This sent me searching for a screen printing machine that would accommodate this or any future project that I might run into. I spent weeks searching to find a machine that would allow me to print unlimited colors that wouldn’t take up my entire work space. Also, a machine that I could grow into without having to constantly sell old equipment then buy new equipment every time my business needed to grow.

I came up empty handed and began designing a manual screen printing machine that would free me from color restrictions and empowered me to start small and grow big within a one system. After several iterations, FRAQTALS is complete.
