Directing is a challenge we genuinely love taking on.

It forces us to think about everything at once—story, motivation, light, camera placement, energy on set. It’s a creative dream… and a nightmare at the same time 😅. And honestly, that tension is where we do our best work.

This was our first time directing and shooting for a Beauty brand, and it wouldn’t have been possible without a dedicated, locked-in team. Grateful for collaborators who bring the vision to life. Can’t wait to dive into the edit.

If you're building a beauty brand and care about story, let's talk.

Thanks @7.24_shots aka Emory Eagles for the BTS photos.

A Humans of Pine Bluff Series - Featuring Kendrick Pop Williams Sr.

“Well, I started cutting hair when I was a little kid. My mom and dad would cut our hair and then I just started practicing it on myself and through practicing myself I grew to have a love for it. And I was doing that around my peers and in my neighborhood everyone started asking me to cut their hair and it became a normal thing for me.

I grew up in Altheimer as a kid. As a kid I was doing a lot of little kid things. Only thing about it is I stared cutting hair at a young age of 11 years old. When I started cutting hair it turned into a full time job for me. I started liking it and people responded to me well with it and I saw how it could help me make a difference in my community. I really began to love it.

My very first pair of clippers were an old Wahl pair with no kind of adjustments on it. I had to get a little wrench and move it up and down and I had tape around it because it would get hot real fast.I had tape around it and I had to put a towel around it to cut hair. It was just a lot of old stuff and I would line with the same clippers too and it was just fun to me.

When I got in high school I was able to not only cut hair for my peers and friends but also able to cut the hair of teachers and superintendents of Althemier high school. Mr. Smith and other teachers around the school allowed me to cut their hair and I feel like it was a privilege to cut hair for people like that. That was big to me. And I enjoyed it. I kept growing and growing and I remember early on Mr. Smith told me I couldn’t cut his hair until I got my license. And I was determined to cut his hair. So I got my license.”

Welcome to the future.

As a filmmaker, I’m stepping into a new year focused on intentional excellence—telling stories that hold your attention longer than a minute, exploring new ways to tell stories that matter, and using cinema to change lives and perceptions.

The future looks like generosity—with my time, my effort, and my resources—put toward shaping the world around me using the creative gifts God has given me.

This proof-of-concept film tells real stories about real people in my city, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. We’re a small rural city on a journey to remember itself. A slow, quiet strength is rebuilding here, and a renaissance is taking shape.

The future looks bright.
The future looks cinematic.
The future looks like dignity, depth, and intention.
The future looks like crafting our story the right way.

If you’re a filmmaker, cinematographer, editor, producer, or creative who believes storytelling can serve people and place—I want to collaborate. Let’s build meaningful work together and tell stories that last.

Let’s do this

The great thing about creativity is that it can send you on quite the adventure! One day we shoot a podcast, the next day we are neck deep in the woods helping a friend shoot commercial work. Life is full of adventure so go out there and find it for yourself. Challenge the right side of your brain (generally known as the creative side) and see how much you can come up with. It makes life much more enjoyable. We are having lots of fun with our projects. More to come about the last couple of days...stay tuned!

If you’ve got an idea — go for it. You’ll be surprised how many people are just waiting to get behind it.

Right now, we’re filming a mini-doc for Pops Barbershop, a place that’s become part of the cultural heartbeat of our city. That project has already opened more doors for us to create premium, cinematic stories right here in Pine Bluff.

This city might not be on everyone’s radar, but we’re here to make sure it is. As Pine Bluff continues its work to reshape its image, we’re doing our part by telling human-centered, compelling stories that show the heart of who we really are.

We’re always looking to collaborate with local businesses and creators who believe in the power of story. Let’s build something great for Pine Bluff together.

Shout out to eagles for the pics!
