Cow’s milk is a natural growth fluid. It’s designed to grow a baby calf into a full-grown cow—fast. And while it’s rich in calcium and protein, it also contains hormones that can interfere with your body’s delicate endocrine system.
Here’s how:
1. Estrogen Overload
Cows, especially those used in commercial dairy farming, are often pregnant. This means their milk contains elevated levels of estrogen and progesterone—which we then consume. Too much estrogen can lead to estrogen dominance, a common condition in women that contributes to:
🔸Weight gain (especially around hips, thighs, and belly)
🔹PMS and heavy periods
🔸Mood swings and anxiety
🔹 Fatigue and brain fog
2. IGF-1: The Growth Hormone
Dairy consumption increases levels of Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1), a hormone linked to acne, inflammation, and excess fat storage. This spike in IGF-1 can send your body the message to store more fat—even if you’re eating clean.
3. Insulin Resistance
Cows, especially those used in commercial dairy farming, are often pregnant. This means their milk contains elevated levels of estrogen and progesterone, which we then consume. Too much estrogen can lead to estrogen dominance, a common condition in women.
Balancing your hormones doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Sometimes, it’s about making small changes—like switching your milk—that create big shifts. If you’re tired of the rollercoaster of energy crashes, stubborn weight, or unpredictable moods, consider giving dairy a break and tuning in to how your body responds.
