If you use Google Local Services Ads for your contracting or home services business, Google is making a change this year.

Starting in August 2026, Local Services Ads are being migrated into the main Google Ads platform as a new campaign type called Performance Max with pay-per-lead goals. Your pay-per-lead model stays intact and your ads will still show on Google Search and Google Maps. The platform you log into to manage them is what changes.

There is one thing you need to act on before your migration date. Your historical reports do not transfer automatically. Once your account moves to Google Ads, the old LSA dashboard closes and that data is gone. You have to download it before migration day.
