We're back from our not-so-brief hiatus! It's been a while, huh? Why? Well, I have a pretty good reason...
I was busy crushing cancer!
Yep, that's right. Breast cancer, to be exact. Last May, at age 32, with two toddlers and a business to run, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 multifocal invasive ductal carcinoma and DCIS, the most common form of breast cancer.
Since then, I've undergone 4 biopsies, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy, 7 weeks of reconstruction, countless pills, injections, tests, scans and blood draws, over 90 doctors appointments (yes, I counted!) and 8 rounds of radiation - with 17 more to go.
During this time, I've learned so much about the patient experience and patient communication -- the good, the bad, and the straight up inappropriate.
Did you know that empowered, well-informed patients have better outcomes? They feel stronger and more supported and therefore, more compliant with treatment plans.
There's nothing I'm more passionate about now. I want to help all our clients help their patients through more effective communication.
So, let's do this! Your patients can't wait any longer -- trust me, I know!
