.mouth ⭐️ I’ve been to Curry Mouth quite a few times over the last couple years, but recently had the chance to meet the owners, Kern and Kate. After spending a little time with them, it became pretty clear why this place has developed such a loyal following.

Located just a few minutes from the Pittsburgh Airport, this family run restaurant specializes in the flavors and traditions of Trinidad and Tobago. From doubles and roti to curry chicken, baked chicken, chickpeas, macaroni pie, and house made drinks, there’s a lot to try out!

The curry chicken with roti is my go to, but plenty of people make the drive specifically for the doubles, the macaroni pie, and some of the other traditional dishes on the menu. It’s one of those places people don’t mind going out of their way for.

The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it’s easy to see how much pride goes into what they’re doing here. If you’ve never been, I’d highly recommend putting it on your list.

⭐️ Flash photography at Anchor Hoagies 📸 One of my favorite parts of doing this is getting to show restaurants in a way most people never get to see them. The goal isn’t just to make the food look good…it’s to capture what makes a place worth visiting in the first place.

Anchor Hoagies is a veteran owned family business out in North Versailles. A few of my favorite shots from a recent visit.

⭐️ If you’re looking for a good dinner spot just outside Pittsburgh, DeBlaze has one of the more well rounded menus you’ll find in the area. Steaks, fresh seafood flown in daily, house made pasta, homemade desserts, plus a great lunch menu and brunch every Saturday and Sunday.

One thing I’ve noticed after eating here several times over the last year is how consistent the food is. The Asiago stuffed gnocchi is still one of my favorites, and the linguine with clams I had recently was right up there too.

I’ve been working with DeBlaze for a while now, so I’ve gotten to know some of the staff and owners. The more time I’ve spent here, the more I’ve come to appreciate how much pride they take in what they’re doing. It’s become one of our favorite places to grab dinner, even when we’re not here filming 💯

⭐️ If you’ve spent any time around Pittsburgh, you already know how important good bread is when it comes to a hoagie.

Anchor Hoagies in North Versailles has been serving up giant hoagies since 2019, and one thing that immediately stood out to me was their commitment to quality. Their bread comes fresh daily from Pittsburgh legend Mancini’s Bakery, and every meat and produce item is sliced in house. They’re also a veteran owned family business, which is always something I love supporting.

While the hoagies are definitely the star of the show, they’ve also got a full menu featuring loaded fries, pretzels, wings, and other bar favorites, plus a huge dining room, full bar, and plenty of beer options if you’re looking to hang out for a while. The Reuben was probably my favorite thing I tried, but their hot sausage sandwich was right up there too.

If you’re looking for a spot a little outside the city that’s doing things the right way, this one is worth having on your radar.

⭐️ There’s something about a small food truck doing one thing really well that always stands out to me. Mr. Nick’s has been popping up around Pittsburgh serving up some seriously good fried chicken sandwiches on locally made Breadworks brioche buns loaded with thick hand breaded chicken, house made pickles, and house made sauces.

The Honey Heat Grease sauce is a must if you like a little sweet heat on your sandwich. It’s easily one of my favorite things on the menu. And while the sandwiches are incredible, I also noticed a ton of people ordering the chicken nuggets while I was there a couple weeks ago. Definitely don’t sleep on those either.

He’ll be over at Trace Brewing this Monday for Memorial Day, so definitely go check him out if you’re in the area.

Lately, one of my favorite parts about doing all this has been getting to see behind the scenes inside places I genuinely love supporting. 350° Bakery has become one of my favorite weekend spots in Pittsburgh, so getting to spend some time in the kitchen with them and watch everything come together was honestly a really cool experience. I think people sometimes forget how much work, preparation, and care goes into places like this before the doors even open. Watching it all happen in real time definitely gives you a different appreciation for it.

Really grateful this job has allowed me to meet so many good people and spend time around businesses that are genuinely passionate about what they do ❤️ And as always, if you’ve got food you’re proud of and want it shown the right way, feel free to reach out.

⭐️ Easily one of my favorite breakfast spots in Pittsburgh over the last couple years….it’s one of those places I end up bringing friends to all the time.

Geppetto Cafe has locations in both Bloomfield and Lawrenceville, and between the relaxed atmosphere, huge menu, and consistently good food, it’s pretty easy to understand why everyone else loves it too 💯

They’re known for their sweet and savory crepes, but they’ve also got French toast, waffles, paninis, specialty lattes and much more! I usually end up trying something different every time I go, but I always make sure to get some potatoes on the side. I honestly love their potatoes. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots in Pittsburgh. Big time congrats too, they’re celebrating 10 years!!

⭐️ You can usually find me at 350° Bakery on Saturday mornings. This spot has become one of my g to places in Pittsburgh, not just because the food is incredible, but because you can genuinely tell how much care goes into everything they make.

350° Bakery is a small batch bakery focused on scratch made baked goods, both sweet and savory. Their biscuit sandwiches are easily some of the best around, especially with the everything seasoned biscuit and the house smoked brisket paired with their white barbecue sauce is ridiculous.

By the time you make it over to the bakery case, it’s game over….Cinnamon rolls, strawberry puff tarts, brownies, hand pies, scones… all of it is made from scratch and all of it tastes incredible.

Definitely one of my favorite bakeries in Pittsburgh right now. Very highly recommend checking this place out.
