Once you embrace the title of ‘Mom,’ you inherently assume various other roles like chauffeur, personal chef, personal assistant, and countless more, yet none of them truly reflect the person you were before becoming a mother.

When I first became a mom, I was in utter bliss, but I felt completely lost, it was all I could do to figure out what I needed to do to take care of this little person that was completely depending on me. I wasn't sleeping and my body had changed in so many ways.

I was just in a state of survival.

Fast forward a few months and I was getting in a rhythm, but i was still in constant state of survival, just trying to get through the next hour or two at a time. I was just focused on keeping my daughter happy and healthy that I didn't even want to think about taking care of myself. I had completely lost myself in taking care of my daughter.

It's so important to not lose yourself in motherhood. I know it's hard when your kids mean the world to you but if you don't fill your cup up first, you don't have anything left to pour into everybody else's is cup.

I once believed success meant having unlimited vacation time with a job at an office that I loved being at. I now realize that scheduling time to spend with my daughter and my family is not a way I want to live for the rest of my life.
