The best time ever having lunch with my dad and my boys at my alma mater πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“πŸ’— The school of design at RIT was home to me on and off for 8 years between undergrad, grad school, and teaching. And my dad called brick city home for nearly 40 years until retiring last summer. These days we go there to visit and show my boys the place that influenced two generations of careers and passion πŸ™ŒπŸ’– @ Rochester Institute of Technology

NEW WEBSITE! πŸ™ŒπŸ’»πŸ’™ 🏁
FFECheer.com
Fast and Fierce Elite - Victor, NY
I am VERY pumped to officially announce the launch of one of my latest websites, FFECheer.com. This project was awesome to work on for a few reasons. The Rapp family, who owns Fast and Fierce Elite - Victor, NY, is one of the most driven, hard-working, inspiring families I have ever met. Parents Jessica and Justin Rapp run the business together, their passion project, while also each working full-time jobs and raising 5 children. Mom Jessica is also in the process of completing her Master's Degree... so yea, they’re FIERCE!! The family started Fast and Fierce Cheer because of their passion for cheering and the inability to find programs like this for their 5 athletic kids that were able to afford. After considering the importance of cheering to their family, as well as empowering young athletes, they started FFE Cheer, which offers affordable half and full-year programs for all ages, along with fundraising opportunities and more.
I also loved working on this project because I got to combine two very different themes into one cohesive brand. Owner and CFO Justin Rapp is a huge racing fan, and though he's also passionate about cheer, it's his wife Jessica who is the Cheer Director and expert. Part of what makes their brand, Fast and Fierce Elite Cheer stand out, is the integration of Justin's passions, his love of cars and racing, with the sport of cheerleading. I got to create some cool website graphics and details to support this integration while building this site - it was fun!! πŸ’™πŸ
And finally, what made this project the coolest yet was that I got to work with Katie Epner, a super talented independent videographer in Rochester. Katie shot, edited and produced an amazing banner video, along with two additional videos highlighting the business and brand. She’s really awesome work if you’re in need of her talents. Thanks so much Katie!!

Happy to all women, and especially my sister , who is the most inspiring woman in my life πŸ’–
I've always looked up to my little sis - she's travelled and lived across the world, always with a mission to learn, explore and volunteer her time to help others less fortunate than herself. Among the many incredible things Jenna’s done, her 6 months in India working with children and helping impoverished new mothers with caring for themselves and their babies was very moving to me. She also spent a long time in Israel running a non-profit healthcare clinic for refugees, and after returning to the states and completing her Master’s in Public Health, she now runs a behavioral health program for refugees in Boston. Jenna has always been devoted to helping and giving back to others, and I think it's so amazing that she turned her passion into a career. 🌟
In addition to being a badass professional, she's also highly committed to causes and organizations that matter to her, and she uses her voice in support of what she believes as well as volunteers her time. To me, that speaks volumes about her character and is so inspiring. Ok, so I have to keep going... she's a freakin' AMAZING cook, and can throw a hell of a dinner party, she's also the and an awesome (and more patient than I am) daughter πŸ˜†as well as hands-down the best and most loving, respectful, and caring friend to every person in her life. I wasn't planning a shout out to my sis today, but when I thought about what I might want to post about International Women's Day, I thought about the most inspiring woman in my life, and that's . Love you J Bird. I’m so proud of you πŸ’ž

Mantras seriously work!!! See it β€’ Believe it β€’ Achieve it!
Believing I could, without first knowing I could, has helped me achieve so many things in my life that I wouldn't have previously thought I was capable of. "Faking it til making it" is something I do every day. I project what I want and I surround myself with inspiration πŸ’–
As a technology professional, I truly love what I do. I also get a rush from inspiring people to chase their dreams. Especially woman and girls, simply because that demographic is grossly underrepresented in the fields of Science and Technology!
So that leads me to how proud I am! Proud to announce my upcoming speaking engagements! It's hard to remember to promote myself in all areas, all the time, but I do speak often, as both a guest lecturer and panelist. I generally speak about online presence optimization, social media, women in technology, women in STEM and empowering women in general. Here are my upcoming events:
❀️ March 11 - Guest Lecturer: Fine Arts Theory & Practice at MCC - Topic - Creating and Growing Your Online Presence as a Fine Artist
❀️ March 22 - Panelist at RIT's School of Art & Design's Women in Design panel
❀️ April 14 - Women in STEM Panelist at the United Nations Girl UP Upstate NY Coalition at Arbor at the Port

Shout out to one of my all-time favorite local artists, RErooted πŸ’œ I have almost a dozen pieces of Tasha’s gorgeous guitar string and repurposed jewelry and dream catchers (should I have just admitted that?!) but the coolest part is that with all the various pieces I own, it’s all so distinctive from one another, yet also distinctively RErooted!! I am obsessed with the way she creates the earrings and necklace I am wearing in the first pic, with guitar strings nestled in a shiny resin. And if you’re around me enough, you know I’d be lost without my custom dream catcher earrings in the second pic... I love @ Village Gate

Excited to announce the launch of ashbymadison.com, one of my recent websites!! In high school, my first job was being the receptionist at Ashby Madison Hair Salon on Park Ave πŸ’‡πŸ»β€β™€οΈ It was the coolest job ever, and for 3 years, my hair became how I defined myself. The second pic is circa 2000 I think... when my hair was not as short as it would become, but my style was πŸ€·β€β™€οΈand my hair in the midst of all of it’s pink glory! Amy Baker, owner of Ashby, was my first boss, a mentor, and someone who has literally never stopped believing in me. It is a huge honor to have come full circle and designed the Ashby website after knowing the business so well for over 20 years!!! πŸ’ž Check it πŸ‘‰ ashbymadison.com @ Ashby Madison Salon
