This weekend marked a special milestone—celebrating 50 years at the Downtown Des Moines Farmers’ Market bringing fresh, local produce and handmade goods to the heart of Des Moines.

Back in 1975, my grandparents were among the 15 original vendors—selling fresh produce, baked goods, and handmade items.

This weekend felt even more special as we had family from Kansas joining us to celebrate this milestone! It’s amazing to see the next generation of the family come together to honor the legacy my grandparents built, and to share in the love of local produce and community. Their support means the world to us, and it’s a reminder of how strong family bonds can grow, even across state lines.

Here’s to the countless memories, new friendships, and the spirit of family that has made this journey so special. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years! Looking forward to the next 50! ❤️
