Tropical Update 10AM CT: The National Hurricane Center has begun issuing advisories for Potential Tropical Cyclone One. PTC One is forecast to become a tropical storm as it moves along or just off the northwestern Gulf coast through Wednesday. Impacts would be short lived and below Tropical Storm criteria along our coast. Our messaging remains the same; periods of intense rainfall through the rest of today/tonight could produce widespread flooding. Gusty winds and coastal flooding are also likely.

Tuesday weather conditions; sporadic downpours, rough waves, soupy beach roads and red flags flying. Beach ruts worsened by golf carts plowing through already accumulated holes holding puddles and deepening them further. Tidal surges. A good day to stay off the beach.
Patton Center at UTMSI is a great rainy day facility with its multiple tanks and info on local sealife.
And will someone please tell the Port Aransas Museum to open on more days besides Thursday through Saturday? Another great place to learn about Port Aransas history.

Flooding and road closures are being reported across the Coastal Bend as heavy rain moves through the region. Drivers are urged to use caution.

Additional rainfall will not be consistent across the Coastal Bend, but isolated areas could see more than 5" by Tuesday afternoon. Flash flooding is likely Tuesday morning.
