Everyone’s obsessed with AI right now, but your consumers are craving the exact opposite.

Sprout Social’s 2026 report says the #1 thing people want from brands is human-generated content.

According to Sprout Social's 2026 Global Social Media Report, the number one thing consumers want from brands right now is human-generated content.

And only 13% of founders and marketers said AI had actually improved their results. Yikes!

Yes, AI can be a very powerful tool for everyone, but you need to know the direction and correct input to give it.

If your messaging is unclear or your brand feels flat, AI just amplifies that. It may even throw in a little "You're doing great, sweetie!" as some encouragement (remember it tells you what it THINKS you want to hear), but it’s not the magic. You are.

Let's talk about the Panic Pivot.

You try something new, maybe an idea for a new campaign to drum up business. So you send an email to your client list for the first time in a year, telling them about your new promotion, and you do 2, maybe 3 posts on social media when you haven't posted in the last 6 months. You're thinking, alright, I'll sit back and let them come to me. But...

All you hear is crickets, so you scrap the idea, wait another 6 months (or until you have the time), and try something new. We hate to break it to you, but your marketing isn't a light switch you can turn on and off when you have time or need to make sales or get clients. You need to give it time to work. You have to be consistent!

If you have a strong message that you want to get out there, and it doesn't hit right away, refine it. Build on what is working because if you are in a constant panic pivot, you are not giving your marketing a chance to do its job.

People need time to notice and trust you, so stick with it.

Blaze's Marketing Tip of the Month: Stop trying to sound impressive and start trying to be remembered.

As business owners, we have all been trained to use big vague phrases like “cutting-edge,” “innovative,” and “industry-leading,” but the problem is that no one actually remembers them.

What do you say instead? Use concrete language. It's more memorable. Meaning that people can remember what they can picture. If they have to think about it and interpret it, they forget.

Instead of “time-saving solution,” tell them how much time they save, or instead of “high performance,” show them what changes.

For example, Domino's Pizza doesn't say "fast delivery", they say "Your pizza in 30 minutes or it’s free!” You can picture and feel it!

Don't make your audience guess what you mean, or you'll lose them before you ever get them in the door.

Some business owners believe AI can help with their marketing. And to an extent, it probably can! But did you read the fine print?

We saw this quote from Kieran Flanagan, SVP of Marketing at HubSpot, and it's so true! Let's break it down more. AI isn’t the skill; it's how you position yourself. You still have to know how to tell the story and, most importantly, know who your customer is.

AI only works if you know exactly what to tell it because it listens to exactly what you say. It's pulling from resources and online material that is already out there, so it's not thinking for you. It's doing what it thinks you want it to, based on what other people have done before you. That is not how you stand out!

Think of AI as predictive text. You know when you start to type in a message on your phone, and your phone predicts what you want to say next? Yeah, like that. It doesn't understand your audience and messaging, and it definitely won't tell you when you are wrong.

But you know who will? Us. 🔥

Most people hear “branding” and immediately think logos, colors, maybe a nice-looking website. And yes, those things matter, but they are only scratching the surface of what branding actually does for your business.

Your brand is what makes people choose you over your competition. It's what makes people recognize and trust you. The problem is that most small business owners try to figure out their branding on their own, putting together a strategy based on what they like rather than what will actually work. And that, well, doesn't work.

Everyone wants better marketing results, but a lot of businesses are still skipping some fundamentals.

We call them "The 4 C's," and they can either help or hurt your marketing and your brand.

1. Communication: If you are trying to say everything, you are saying nothing. How are you communicating with your audience? This sets your brand tone and messaging, so make sure it is clear and consistent.
2. Content: Quality over quantity. If you are posting 5 times a day just to "post something," that is just noise. Instead of being an influencer, be a knowledge creator! Say something worth paying attention to. This helps you build trust over time.
3. Creative: Stop playing it safe! Sure, you can use a design template everyone uses, but safe ideas blend in. Bold ideas get remembered!
4. Channels: You know the saying "A jack of all trades is a master of none"? Same applies here. Pick your main social media channel based on your audience. Focus on that and then distribute to your other channels. Being everywhere might sound good, but being in the right place works better.

Remember, it's not about what YOU like; it's about what your potential rockstar clients NEED, and keeping them coming back for more.
