Hey all👋,

I’d like to introduce myself.

My name is Sanford Newvine, born and raised in Canton NY, and I now live in Winthrop with my family 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦.

Before I moved to Winthrop, I owned a house🏡 in Potsdam and as I put an offer 💴 down for my current house, I soon had to figure out how I was going to sell my Potsdam house.
We cleaned and staged it very nicely, took many good pictures 📷 of the house and listed it with a local real estate agency. The market was hot 🔥 back in 2021 so a lot of people wanted to see it. Nearly 50‼️showings and a couple fall through offers later, it was the end of the real estate season and we had already moved into our new home in Winthrop.

We had no choice but to take it off the market and use the Potsdam house as a rental.
Each showing was a disruption to our lives because not only did we have to find a place to go for an hour or two, but we also had to blitz clean 🧼🧽 the house in the hours leading up to the showing. Luckily, it was summer ☀️ and there were ample things to do in the north country, but after 50 showings it was starting to wear on us (especially with a newborn baby added to the mix)😴.

I had this virtual tour idea💡around that time, but decided not to do anything with it because life was pretty busy.

Over this winter season I was laid off from work😢— which was a real perspective change for me—but it also gave me the opportunity to explore what I could do with this idea I’ve put on the shelf in my brain🧠.

I firmly believe that virtual tours can save clients the most important resource in their life—time⏰. When I was selling my Potsdam house, I felt like that summer was wasted with house showings.
Real estate agents may relate to this as well as they are the ones showing houses on the weekends at all hours away from their family and friends 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧.

I should have explained what a 360 video is and why it’s so cool. Just like a 360 picture, you can look around and see all around the video like you’re there in person. When you watch this video:
-Start watching facing one direction
-Change your phone direction to the left
-Change phone direction to be behind you
-Look up or down with your phone

I haven’t really seen videos like these until recently, but they can be useful especially for people trying to sell land or feature a space where it feels like you’re actually walking through it. Possibilities are endless.

Decided to try out the 360 video option on my camera. Starting to feel like winter with snow on the ground.
