Brand identity for , a new company making high end storage solutions for motorcycle gear and other heavy duty protective clothing and gear. Selling high-end, premium versions of what are typically seen as basic, utilitarian products (such as coat hangers) requires a brand that will immediately engage potential customers and create an emotional connection. The MotoButler brand does this with a light hearted, cheeky, humorous approach that is fairly distinct among other motorsports brands. As the company and product line grows, the GearButler logos provide an extension of the identity that can reach beyond motorsports while still being fully part of the Butler brand umbrella.

I know it launched a year ago but I just discovered the new Destination Redmond branding and had to give props to Destination Redmond and Watson Creative for a well executed identity that avoids the tree/mountain/river cliche. Having worked a fair bit with destination brands in the past I know the pressure is intense for fast, cheap, and safe (forgettable) brand marks.

The 13th Annual Prineville Pint is almost here, and I'm excited to launch a brand new website for the event! The first Paddy Pint was the year I moved to Prineville and it has been exciting to see it grow from a couple dozen runners to many hundreds of participants each year. And the brand has grown along with it; from creating what I thought to be a one-off flyer for the 2014 event, to a full visual identity that envelopes Prineville for a week every March.

The previous website was built on Wix - a platform that is easy to get something up and running, but quickly becomes limiting for any company or organization needing flexibility and customization. As with all sites I build, this is built on Wordpress, using the fantastic Pro Theme and Cornerstone builder from Themeco. This set up ensures that any future functionality can be accommodated without worrying about the limitations of a proprietary platform like Wix.

The fully custom design allows for a much stronger visual consistency with the rest of the Paddy Pint brand. It also utilizes dynamic content so that event organizers and volunteers can easily update event information, adjust course maps, manage sponsors, share photos, etc., without ever needing to touch the design or structure of the site.

Enjoy! And sign up for the ! 🍀🏃🏃‍♀️

Custom bike rack design for the new clinic expansion. The amazing fabrication work was done by in Powell Butte. I originally designed the cats as a little sticker personal project: cat-flag.com (based on the ubiquitous and oft-mimicked Black Flag logo), and realized it would be perfectly on-brand for this project.

This logo was developed primarily for signage and way finding at Cline Buttes Recreation area, a multi-user trail area in Redmond, Oregon.

When I approach projects like this, I like to explore three completely different design directions—because there’s never just one way to solve a problem. Swipe to see the alternate concepts I created alongside the final mark.

is a small, welcoming hostel in the charming town of Mitchell, Oregon, near the iconic Painted Hills. Located on the route, it caters primarily to bikepackers and racers touring the region. Operating since 2015, the hostel sought a logo that more clearly reflects its strong cycling focus and reputation among riders.

Old but fun. How to capture the punk rock attitude of a Greg Stump ski movie 30 years after the fact? Neon and Mohawks does the job. Stumpy is a legend in the ski and MTB film world and we're fortunate to find him floating around Prineville on occasion. This poster was for a COTA fundraiser a while back for which Greg gave a showing of the film Blizzard of AAHH's. Greg Stump

The original NW Wheel & Tire site was built over 10 years ago, and while the minimalistic, clean design helped it last for a decade, the business had grown significantly and it was time for a rebuild. The new site maintains the minimalist, clean design of the brand, but utilizes the modern functionality of Wordpress that allows NWW&T staff to make content updates without worrying about affecting the design or functionality of the site.
