A fun story about marketing and product promotion.

Nike pays Erling Haaland roughly $20 million a year to promote its products. A family-run western store in Dallas just got the same treatment for free. Better than free—Haaland paid them $750 for a taxidermy raccoon hugging a wh***ey bottle. 😂👏🏽

The backstory makes it even better. During Norway’s World Cup run, Haaland walked into Wild Bill’s Western Store and bought cowboy hats, exotic boots, a longhorn belt buckle, and a shirt that read, “Y’all can kiss my Dallas.” The owner said Haaland had never worn a cowboy hat before and had to be fitted for his first one.

After Norway’s Cinderella run ended, Haaland carried the raccoon home to Oslo himself, captioned it “It followed me home,” and even asked fans to name it on Instagram.

The result? The Wh***ey Raccoon is sold out. The Dallas shirt is nearly gone. Their $500 Belligerent Squirrel is running low, and locals are lining up at a store they’ve walked past for decades.

Brands pay $20 million a year to rent Haaland’s image. Wild Bill’s sold it to him for $750. 🤯

Friday Feature: Beginning today, every Friday we'll be spotlighting one of our clients and showcasing some of the work we've created together.

Our first featured client is Team Kentucky Lacrosse—also known as the Kentucky Women's National Team. Overseen by the Kentucky Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association (KYGLCA), Team Kentucky is a premier program for high school players in grades 9–11. Each year, the team competes in the USA Lacrosse National Tournament.

J.R. Reed + Associates was proud to help bring the Team Kentucky brand to life by designing their new logo, creating the official 2026 apparel, developing their website, managing their social media presence, and producing laminated roster sheets that stood up to the cold, rainy Rochester, New York weather during this past June's national tournament.

There's something special about buying fresh food straight from the source.

Stopped by Rivercrest Farm this weekend and came home with fresh local meats, farm-fresh eggs, and some incredibly sweet Kentucky corn. You can truly taste the difference that comes from quality products raised and grown with care.

If you're looking to support a local farm while filling your table with fresh, high-quality food, make a trip to Rivercrest Farm Ky one Saturday morning between 9:30-11am. It's well worth the visit.

On Saturday, June 13th, SOS welcomed 22 individuals to their Free Wheelchair & Mobility Aid Clinic — the highest number of people ever served at a single clinic to date. With the help of dedicated volunteers, SOS provided free repairs, cleaning, and assessments for wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility equipment for people from across Louisville. Thank you for all that you do SOS!

Steve & Tina Tembeleski’s son Alex receives medical, dental and psychological care at Louisville’s Lee Specialty Clinic, a state-owned facility that provides comprehensive care to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Lee Clinic's funding was recently slashed by $4.5 million — roughly two-thirds of the facility’s budget.
