Today, as we mark Juneteenth, let this anniversary of freedom serve as a reminder that the fight for equality and justice continues. Black Americans of all walks of life still face discrimination on multiple fronts, and attacks on our democracy โ such as recent assaults on voting rights โ threaten to undermine the progress we've made.
Still, there is hope
At the NAACP, we've raised our voices for more than a century to demand equality and justice for all. Through nonviolent advocacy and legal challenges, gains have been achieved. But there is still work to be done and one of the ways we can continue the fight for true justice and freedom is with our vote.
The upcoming November election is critical. We need volunteers now more than ever to connect directly with voters across the country. By signing up at naacp.org/volunteer, you'll commit to calling or texting infrequent voters to ensure they're ready to cast their ballot this fall. We'll provide contact information for local voters in your community who need reliable information to exercise their constitutional right.
