I get married THIS SUNDAY, March 22nd, 2026. I did my own nails and we DIYed our center pieces, getting the last of the touches done before the big day. We also had our rehearsal yesterday and I’m getting more and more excited. I anticipate remaining on Hiatus until at least June since we’ll also be having our bean enter the world in the next few weeks and will require an adjustment period to having baby be here with us finally.

Posting your tropes and trigger warnings on social media can help you find your target readers. I know when I'm thinking about reading a book, I'll check out anauthor's socials and see if I'm going to vibe with them and their book. It's even better when they post the triggers and tropes so I know if I'm in the right mood and headspace for those subjects.

After much thought I've decided to halt talking new clients for the remainder of the year as of August 1st, 2025. This will not affect returning clients and I will continue to proofread for you.

I've been suffering from burnout between working full time in a warehouse and running this business. This year I also suffered a miscarriage at the end of February. It was my fiancé and I's first pregnancy together and as my expected due date approaches that weighs heavily on my mind and heart.

In happier news my partner and I are getting married in March of 2026 and I'm gearing up to start DIYing all of our decorations and getting everything set up for the big day. That will begin taking a lot of my time and I don't want to stretch myself thin and I don't want Noctem Invicta to suffer. So I'll be using these months to focus on getting myself in order and come back in January with fresh ideas for Noctem Invicta.

It allows me to catch more and give you back a manuscript that still has the same errors in it that you gave to me originally. If a rush needs to happen, please communicate that with me and there may be a price increase to compensate.

You should hire a proofreader after your manuscript has gone through line, copy and developmental edits. This could be a different person than your proofreader or it could be the same person. It depends on if your editor offers all types of editing or only certain levels.

Piracy is not a victimless crime. It impacts artisans so incredibly negatively and discourages them from wanting to share their art. For Indie Authors that hit is even more so. Many Indies are trying to build their brand and their audience base. When their work is pirated, they aren't getting the income they would have gotten if that person had purchased their book. This is discouraging because a lot of indies are working to turn writing into their full time job and without the income, are forced to also have other sources of income. Piracy is the sh*ttiest thing to do in attempts to "support" your favorite authors and artists.

So I had an idea to share what my workspace tends to look like. I usually keep my content planner nearby to keep myself on track with when I’m posting and what I am. I also use said planner to keep track of all of my own deadlines so I don’t accidentally miss anything important.
