There is an old story about Picasso that I think about a lot. ✏️

The story goes that he was sitting in a cafe when a woman recognized him.

She asked if he would draw something for her.

He took a napkin and sketched for about 30 seconds. Then he handed it to her and named his price.

Something outrageous. Thousands of dollars.

She was stunned. She said, "but it only took you 30 seconds."

And he said no.

It took me 40 years.

That story is the whole thing right there. 💙

When you hire someone who knows what they are doing, you are not buying their afternoon.

You are buying every mistake they already made so you do not have to make it.

You are buying the client they lost in 2009 and what they learned from it.
