Eight years ago today, we launched Surefoot.

No office. No team. No clients. Just a belief that ecommerce brands deserved better than “best practices” and hunch-based redesigns.

We wanted to be the team that actually moved the needle. That ran real experiments. That made data beautiful, usable, and profitable.

Today?
We’re still that team, and we’ve learned a ton.

Wish us a Happy Birthday - surefoot is five years old today! Looking back from our first All-Hands when it was just BandL (Brian and Laura) to now, there’s so much we’ve accomplished to make the e-commerce experience more human-friendly. But what makes our work meaningful is that we give a damn - about our clients, team, and this planet. We’re here for the long haul, and we look forward to seeing what kind of impact surefoot has in another five years!

We have a BIG win to share, and it has little to do with improving experiences and solving problems for end users. surefoot gifted $4,590.00 to as our contribution! That donation will impact 12 girls living in Sierra Leone or Uganda, providing ONE YEAR of tuition, lunch, transportation, and a back-to-school kit. Our gift covers a solar light for each girl - to help with homework at night; this is also a source of safety in villages.

A girl born in Sierra Leone is more likely to be married before the age of 18 than she is to finish school – and only 16% of girls complete high school. Our donation is working hard to change that.

Happy two-year surefoot-iversary to Lori! She is one of the most curious, self-motivated learners we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Lori is passionate about analytics, highly communicative, and cares about her teammates. We’re grateful for all the ways she's made our processes, systems, and analytics practices better.

Happy two-year surefoot-iversary to Jen! Jen is a fantastic collaborator who considers her work’s impact on her teammates. We so admire Jen’s growth mindset, hustle and all the laughter and joy she brings to the team. Jen’s impact has been felt across the team for the two years she’s been with surefoot, and she went from our first QA hire to an amazing Project Manager!

Four years! Happy surefoot-iversary to Nick! He is an incredible person, talented engineer, and a bedrock of surefoot’s team and culture. Nick is reliable, kind, and has a knack for solving problems efficiently. Thanks to his amazing leadership, our tooling is top notch. He’s always willing to help a teammate, and we’re so grateful for his countless contributions.

We so appreciate him…four more years of Nick, please!
