Sunnybrook Children's Home is teaming up with 15-year-old Linda Watson to create a peaceful butterfly & prayer garden for her Eagle Scout project for the teens in our care.

Linda, whose family has fostered 15 children, wants to give these youth a beautiful space for reflection and hope. 🌿🦋

Now that the music has stopped ringing in our ears 😸 the real fun begins: supporting innovation in Loudoun County Public Schools.

Education foundations like LEF have a unique ability to manage risk for school divisions while investing in needed innovation.

Who best understands what students need to be successful? Educators do, but they shouldn't be forced to come out of pocket to give their students what they need.

This is what it's all about 👇

Every day, Ms. Rene Pettit is one of countless educators who goes above and beyond on the job, never expecting extra credit or special recognition.

The Loudoun Education Foundation's SHINE program is designed with people like her in mind, and this was a fun one to be involved with and help sponsor.

In order to get Ms. Pettit to report to the library for the surprise award ceremony, the school principal gently told her that there was something in the library that needed her attention.

She showed up with her stethoscope on, ready for business. That's how she approaches her job every day, at the service of the students and staff who make Loudoun County Public Schools run.

Thanks to LEF for including us in this award and congrats to Ms. Pettit!

It's a big Tuesday at POUNCE, as we welcome our newest team member, Alexis Gustin! 🙌

Alexis joins us as a Marketing & Communications Specialist, bringing 18 years of multimedia storytelling experience with her. She has experience in TV news, radio, smart speakers and (most recently) print as an education reporter for Loudoun Now.

Alexis looks for the unique story in everyone, and loves sharing those stories through pictures, words and sound.

Recognize her voice? Beyond her newspaper career, Alexis recently worked on a pilot program through Gannett that included her anchoring weekend newscasts for Google and Alexa.

When Alexis isn’t telling a story, she loves reading stories to her 7-year-old, paddleboarding on a lake, and spending time with her kids.

She is excited to join POUNCE as our first full-time hire, and we're thrilled to have her 😻 Join us in welcoming Alexis to the team!
