Facebook Ads “Don’t Work”

Time and time again I come across healthcare professionals who have attempted to “try out FB ads”.

They think its simple because their children use facebook. A huge misconception for all ownsers is simply boosting a post will get results. Many owners believe once they figure it out they will finally be able to scale their business.

Boosting a post doesn't target any interest or even a lookalike audience. Does those terms have you baffled? I bet so just like most terminology I hear in the medical profession.

Once a post is boosted, owners feel they are running traffic, but they have no sales pages, webinar, or funnel ( more industry technobable). Point is business just have a website, and feel it is mandatory. This is beginning to be outdated when trying to improve sales, especially when running ads online.

Once the boosted post is active owners let this run for a day or two and realize they have nothing to show for it but expensive leads, and probably no sales.

Well Here’s the truth about FB Ads…..

If you don’t have clarity on your NICHE, OFFER, & RESULT.

Expect to make a deposit into Mark Zuckerberg's bank account with nothing to show for it.

Here’s the thing about Facebook Ads it's more of a scaling machine for Offers with a strong proof of concept.

You probably shouldn’t invest in paid traffic until you have 100% CLARITY on these three things in your business.
Niche
Who does your business serve? The more specific the better.

If you think that you just serve everyone that needs to feel better good luck taking that to the ads and producing results.

Your niche is too broad and it would be difficult for the algorithm to find the people who will be interested in your offer.

You want to be crystal clear on who it is that your offer helps.

So for example, if you’re a cosmetic surgeon that offers emsculpt as your most profitable service. The ad should not be about general services offer. Same concept for every business.

Now having solid calairty on aniche. That can produce results.

How does your practice do help patients get to where they want to be?

Your offer simply isn’t just the the service.

Your service is a vehicle needed to take a patient to their desired destination.

If your offer isn’t proven organically I would probably stay away from using Facebook ads.

Unless you have thousands of dollars in the bank to use on testing to see what will work.

This is where hiring an Agency comes in handy.

You will see that the tactical side of Facebook ads becomes less important, and all you need to do is just get your message in front of the masses to see exponential results.

If you focus on doing less, you will naturally do more.

Over the past year I learned a valuable lesson. That lesson was that what you focus on will grow. This goes for anything in life business, sports, fitness, relationships, etc...

Specifically in the marketing space this is why I see so many people struggle. If you are doing 3 MLM'S , affiliate marketing, a job, and still trying to find the next shinny object that will be your big break. You will definitely fail.

They say the average millionaire has 7 streams of income. The key is not starting them all at once, but systematically.

Learning to say no to new opportunities and focus on 1 thing, will be what gets you to that level.

Step 1 - How much do you wanna make or what do you want to achieve?

Step 2 - Who do you wanna sell? A major key ( speak to a specific someone or you're speaking to no one)?l

Step 3 - Where are they ALREADY trying to go? You must be clear on this!

Step 4 - What problem are they ALREADY having that you could solve? This is why your who is so important

Step 5 - The big step people miss is, the offer and sales message are created at the same time. Followed by funnel.

Step 6 - launch campaign

Step 7 - evergreen campaign

Step 8 - tweak

Step 9 - do 6 & 7 again

10 Facebook Ads Lessons I Learned in 2019!

1. Do NOT have all your eggs in one basket

Something is going to break.. I Guarantee it!
If Facebook is the only traffic source you rely on, you are going to regret it.
Always have other traffic sources you can depend on.

2. Dig your well LONG before you are thirsty

I am referring to new ads.
Write them long before you need them.
Get them approved long before you need them.
Ad approvals have been a nightmare recently.

3. Make Use of the Algorithm

Facebook knows all sorts of stuff.
This includes what your best buyers have in common.
The Facebook algorithm will find and identify complex commonalities.
Make sure you leverage the heck out of Lookalike Audiences.
1% & 2% are Ideal.
Knowing your Audience LTV is even better.

4. Diversify Where You Get Traffic From

Something in Facebook is bound to break.
If you rely only on 1 traffic source you will tend to be disappointed.

5. Lifetime Budgets

Based on my personal experience, Lifetime Budgets reduced Cost Per Result compared to Daily Budgets.
By ALOT; as high as 25% to 50%!
I wish it wasn't so, but every test I have ever run proves this again and again.
Lifetime budgets are cheaper

6. Messaging

Its okay to go super ninja with your targeting.
But your biggest gains will come from your Ad Copy.
You HAVE to talk directly to your avatar.
Understand their deepest and darkest fears, the pain they go through in their daily life, their unrequited fantasies and dreams..

7. Comments Matter

Too many marketers do not manage the negative comments.
Unattended negative comments can really have a detrimental effect.
Just deleting them comments is not enough
Easiest way to moderate comments > select all trolls and complainers, hit delete comments and ban.
Problem solved!

8. Become Less Reliant on Facebook

Yes, I actually said it.

9. PPE

Social proof matters.
When you write a new ad, first run a PPE (engagement) Campaign to it.
Optimise for engagements.
Run to a warm audience where people will like, comment and share.
Once there is a lot of action on the ad, grab the post ID and pop it into a Conversion Campaign.
Boom!
High relevance score.
Low CPA.

10. Boring = Death

Facebook is an Entertainment Channel.
Be Interesting. Be Entertaining. Be Funny.
But. Never. Be. Boring.

We all know video content is king. Many social platforms have added stories as well. There is a huge misconception is around views and how they are counted.
đź’ĄFor Facebook and Instagram, viewing just 3 seconds of a video of any length is considered a view. This gives you the awesome power to target people by seconds viewed.
đź’Ą For YouTube Trueview ads, it's around 30 seconds.which makes for higher quality customers.
đź’ĄAlthough on stories if you tap past a post, it still counts as a view. We have found stories are best used for daily life and results. It is a great way to engage your audience, not pitch them.

These are very important to remember especially when creating content and ads.

This relates perfectly to how you position your business.

1. If you are marketing to your ideal client then where you market is key to landing ideal clients. Positioning is major in today's market

2. If your offer ( the bait) is not attractive the client will pass.

3. If you do not know how to close a potential client all marketing is pointless.
This is like horsing a fish which means bring a fish in before it's ready.. Knowing how to bring in a client into your system is key. Every business should have a value ladder
