Captivate Media is looking for a talented graphic designer who: has a passion for all-things creative, can thrive under pressure, and also hates the font Papyrus. The perfect candidate is well rounded and can jump right into traditional projects (Logos, Packaging, Billboards, Point of Sale), but also understands how to design for digital/video (Motion Graphics, Banner Ads, Text on Screen, etc.). This position will also be responsible for creating storyboards and presentations ā€“ taking written or spoken ideas and converting them into a visual design that connects with the client/audience.Ā 

The ideal candidate is confident in their ideas and skills, but also comfortable with accepting feedback and direction.Ā 

Required skills and qualifications

* A great eye for design. What looks good and what doesn't, and able to discuss why.
* We're a mac company. Sorry PC people.Ā 
* At least 3 years professional experience with Adobe Creative Suite, and client work.Ā 
* Excellent at communication and presenting ideas
* Has great organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Always looking to grow creatively and continue building skill setĀ 
* Must have an online design portfolio with recent examples of work (ideally in all of the areas listed in the description above)

BONUS skills and qualifications
* Able to design AND animate Text and Motion GraphicsĀ 
* Experience with photography and photo editingĀ 
* Enjoys concepting video projects, and helping out on set.Ā 
* Bachelorā€™s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, or related discipline
* Knows how to properly maintain a small fish tank (don't judge us when you see it)

Logistics
Captivate Media thrives in a collaborative, in-person environment. While occasionally working from home or while traveling is allowed, the majority of work will be done in our office in Rochester, NY.Ā
