This weekend was another busy one on the slopes of Black Mountain of Maine. On Saturday, I photographed the Maine Junior Ski League giant slalom with 186 skiers and today I photographed the Martin Luther King High School Giant Slalom with 208 competitors. Both days became challenging with persistent snowfall. Congratulations to our victors, Maggie Hudson and Lucien Camire in the MJSL race, and Lily Boulanger and Reed Michaud in the MLK High School Giant Slalom. This is a three-day event which began yesterday with temperatures reaching over 50º. The Chisholm Ski Club crew is doing an amazing job to preserve the snow pack. Braving cold and windy conditions, high school skiers from all across Maine competed in the two-day MPA state meet championships at Black Mountain in Rumford. Congratulations to all the skiers for great competition and sportsmanship. Kudos to all the parents, coaches, Black Mountain staff, and Chisholm Ski Club volunteers who helped make it a great event. Check out the action at https://www.rvgphotos.com/Skiing/2025-MPA-Nordic-Championships.

Congratulations to the Maranacook Men and Women for winning the Mountain Valley Conference Alpine Championships yesterday at Black Mountain. I was a little late in getting some awesome photos uploaded to my website. A snowstorm and a broken drive belt on my snowblower will do that to you. I'm finishing the final upload of photos as I type this. View gallery at
