The Jacksonville Police Department is warning residents about a phone scam involving callers who falsely claim you have an outstanding warrant and must make an immediate payment to avoid arrest.
These calls are fraudulent.
The Jacksonville Police Department will NEVER call you and demand payment over the phone. We will NEVER ask for your Social Security number, bank account information, credit card numbers, gift card payments, or any other personal financial information over the phone.
Scammers often use fear and intimidation, threatening arrest if you hang up or refuse to pay. Do not be pressured into providing information or sending money.

If you receive a call like this:

✅ Hang up immediately.

✅ Do not provide any personal information.

✅ Do not send money or make any type of payment.

✅ Contact the Jacksonville Police Department to report the incident.

Rusk city manager resigns under mutual agreement, receives $90K severance

According to the documents, the city agreed to provide Goldsberry with a $90k severance package that includes salary, unused leave and continued benefits.
