Lowe’s CEO Lowe’s Marvin Ellison announced a major investment plan aimed at closing the skills gap in the trades industry. Over 10 years, the company committed $250 million to train 250,000 workers in fields such as electrical work, plumbing, and carpentry.

Ellison pointed to rising demand for skilled labor and said AI could not replace hands-on trade work. He noted that while AI handled tasks like writing emails, it could not match real-world expertise needed for work like roof repairs or electrical systems.

Marvin Ellison framed the initiative as a response to long-term workforce needs. He said the effort supported both industry demand and practical job readiness in communities across the country.

As automation expanded across many sectors, the trades remained steady in demand. Lowe’s investment focused on preparing a new generation of workers with job-ready skills that technology could not replace.

Have you seen the Juneteenth flag?

The red.

The white.

The blue.

The star.

But most people were never taught the name of the man who created it.

Ben Haith.

Also known as “Boston Ben.”

In the early 1990s, he noticed something important.

Juneteenth celebrations were growing.

But there was no single symbol people across the country could recognize.

So he created one.

Haith chose red, white, and blue to show that Black Americans are part of the American story.

Not outside of it.

The flag’s star represents freedom.

Its burst design points to a new beginning.

And over time, that flag became one of the most recognized symbols of Juneteenth.

Today it flies at schools.

Museums.

Community events.

And Juneteenth celebrations across America.

One man saw a missing piece.

And helped create a symbol that millions now recognize.

That story deserves to be remembered.

Dear Black Man….

Never forget the POWER in knowing who you are and you value and worth! Never let any outside noise deter you from knowing the MAN you are!

🎶 “Say it loud… I’m Black and I’m Proud!” ✊🏾🖤❤️💚

Baby understood the assignment! 😂 This is my mood every day, all day.

As we approach Juneteenth, I want to wish all my brothers and sisters a Happy Independence✊🏾

Juneteenth is more than a celebration—it’s a reminder of the strength, resilience, culture, and legacy we carry every single day.

Our babies deserve to know OUR history. Not just the parts they’re taught in school, but the stories, sacrifices, victories, and greatness that came before them. It starts at home. It starts with us.

Teach them who they are.
Teach them where they come from.
Teach them to walk proudly in their purpose.

Because when our children know their history, they move through this world differently.

Happy Juneteenth, family. Stay proud. Stay rooted. Stay Blackity Black. 🖤✊🏾❤️💚
