If your child is starting 6th grade in the fall of 2026, we want to invite you and your child to Level Up on August 5 from 6:30-7:30 PM at every campus!

As your child moves from Hope Kids to Hope Students, you'll get to experience a Wednesday night service before services start for all of 6th thru 12th grade. After the service, students will get to meet with their small group leaders and peers, while parents attend a meeting with their campus student pastor. Did we mention pizza will be provided too? 🍕

WHERE: Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, 1301 S Central Expy., McKinney, TX 75070

WHAT: Pop-up vendor fair + school supply drive with donkeys, a shave-ice truck, a live on-site radio broadcast from K-Lake 97.5 radio station, games and more.

WHY: Finch Elementary is a Title I school serving 380 local McKinney students. Bad Ass Coffee is asking our community to step up and help us ensure each student receives a backpack with all their supplies for the upcoming school year.

HOW?
1. Buy a parking spot (for only $125!) and showcase your business. Your payment is a tax deductible donation made directly to the Finch Elementary PTA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. You can sell goods, advertise your business, giveaway samples and/or coupons.

Thinking about riding—or letting your kids ride—an e-bike, scooter, or mini dirt bike? Here's what’s legal and what’s not in McKinney 👇

🚴‍♂️ E-Bikes (Class 1–3)
Defined under Texas Transportation Code § 664.001 as bicycles with:
• A motor ≤750 watts,
• Functional pedals, and
• One of three specific classifications:

🔹 Class 1: Pedal assist only, max 20 mph
🔹 Class 2: Throttle or pedal assist, max 20 mph
🔹 Class 3: Pedal assist only, max 28 mph, must have speedometer

✅ No license, registration, or insurance required
✅ Allowed on public roads, bike lanes, and designated trails, unless locally restricted
⚠️ Note: Class 3 e-bikes are labeled for riders 15 years and older based on national safety labeling standards required under § 664.003(b). This is not a criminal offense or local ordinance in McKinney but may be enforced as a best practice by retailers and manufacturers.

Defined by Texas Transportation Code § 551.351
❌ Not allowed on public roads, sidewalks, or parks in McKinney
✅ Permitted only on private property or bike trails
👨‍👧‍👦 Parents may be cited if they allow children to operate one unlawfully

❌ Not legal on public property, roads, or sidewalks in McKinney—regardless of speed or size
✅ May only be used on private property with owner’s consent

⚠️ The ordinance presumes a parent allowed the use unless proven otherwise

🛵 Mopeds
✅ Require driver’s license (§ 521.021)
✅ Must be registered (§ 502.473) and insured (§ 601.191)
✅ Legal only on roads posted ≤ 45 mph

🚗 Motor Vehicles (Including Gas-Powered Dirt Bikes or Quads)
✅ Require full license, registration, and insurance
✅ Legal only on public roads when fully street-legal

🚫 Violations That May Result in Citations:
• Driving motorized vehicles on sidewalks, trails, or parks
• Riding unlicensed, uninsured, or unregistered vehicles on public roads
• Allowing minors to ride unauthorized vehicles in public
• Operating scooters, dirt bikes, or pocket bikes on public property
