Mike's talk at Content Marketing World was so well received, we are bringing the topic back for an online event this Friday. Webinars are more than just lead generation activities; He'll show you how market research is another powerful webinar “use case” where some brands are using (and for no additional cost beyond their initial webinar investment) the webinar as a powerful way to collect valuable life cycle intelligence to better understand the unique needs of the market’s readiness for a particular offering. Which webinar invitation format do you prefer to receive? From left to right: HTML or Rich Text? There are many advantages and considerations for each. HTML uses eye-catching imagery, but it can be falsely detected as SPAM. Rich Text is simpler and more personal, but you lose the ability to brand. What do you think? (Note: these webinar invitations are examples only. In fact, they were created specifically for our Webinar Producer Training Course: http://www.webattract.com/webinarready-training-course/)

Webinar Tip: To help learn about your audience's interests, always ask on the webinar registration landing page, "What would you like learn from the webinar?" in addition to name, industry, organization, title, email, geography, etc. It’s better to learn this before they show up on webinar day, as it helps validate the messaging and deliverables you promised to cover in the webinar invitation. More importantly, you can share this information with your speakers to make sure they align their presentation with the interests of the audience.

Webinar Tip: A good back of the envelope metric is to expect 30%-40% of all webinar registrants to attend live. I hope that's not also true for Mike's talk at Content Marketing Institute's Content Marketing World tomorrow! We're hoping to see a full house for his talk on how webinars aren't just for demand generation, but also market research. Good stuff!

Webinar Tip: Embrace market disruptions and industry shifts to create a compelling webinar topic. You'll hit audience pain points AND demonstrate your thought leadership.

The most successful webinars are NOT product-centric around features, benefits, or pricing. This is a huge turn-off for audiences as they see it as a sales pitch. Instead focus the webinar on business value, ROI or best practices. We hope you keep this in mind for your next webinar production.

Webinar Tip: A critical factor in achieving your webinar goals is establishing your desired outcomes. Which of these outcomes are you trying to achieve? Raise Brand Awareness, Promote Thought Leadership, or Drive Sales?

To get prospects to have a 1:1 sales conversation with you after the webinar, you must create an engaging event. Here are my five best tips to keep your audience engaged during the webinar: http://www.webattract.com/engage-webinar-audience/successful-webinar-keep-audience-engaged/

Following up on last week’s post covering my most important lessons for attracting your webinar audience, let’s now pivot and focus on producing a successful webinar by engaging your webinar audience once they show up live as

People won’t register for your webinar if it’s not a "must have" topic or if it doesn’t provide content that will help them overcome a vexing challenge.

Here's a tip: Industries in turmoil, or ones dealing with confusion and change, are ripe for attending a webinar to learn how to overcome these challenges.

Below are some must-have topics that have proven to be very successful in attracting an audience. (By the way, two of these led to a million dollar sale—can you guess which ones they are?)
