Happy birthday to my partner, companion, husband, and for the first birthday ever- baby daddy (!!)

Mikey is a true friend. He cares deeply, gives generously, and cheers you on with his whole heart, mind & soul. All those that know Mikey know this. While there’s so much rhetoric about “losing yourself” in marriage and parenthood, Mikey continues to transform into more than I could’ve ever imagined for him— everything God has called him to be.

I say the same thing every year because it gets truer and truer the older we get. It’s such an honor to know you, live with you, and love you. Happy happy happy birthday!!

Thank you, moms. Thank you for giving us space to find ourselves. Now that I’m a mom, I finally see the weight you carried so I could feel loved.

Thank you for knowing when to simply stand beside me. For listening and healing alongside me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally.

May we spend all of ours days celebrating you— your love, strength, and sacrifice, that shaped our families in only the way a mother can.

(Brides, a little note to keep in your back pocket when looking for your photographer)

As a bride I can attest to the pace of your wedding day: some moments feel so beautifully sacred, like you could stay there for a hundred years, while others are quick, flashing by & although sweet, the mind can only remember so many of those moments.

I have often found myself sitting back on a slow afternoon, when the baby is down for his nap & the afternoon light has rested upon my home, looking back through my wedding gallery. Laughing at the moments on the dance floor & tearing up at our ceremony.

In the busy afternoon, when the house is a mess & the baby has not stopped crying, I find myself, just for a moment taking a glimpse at the framed photos on the wall and feeling refreshed by that love that brought me here.

That is my heart for the weddings I capture (Just! Like!
This! One!) It’s for the days ahead: the sleepy afternoons & rush of the morning. To remember & recall every last moment.

Some of my favorite photos will always be the ones tied to people I love.
Not because they’re technically perfect.
Not because everything went exactly as planned.

But because I get to stand in the middle of a story that already means something to me.

Getting to photograph this sweet couple (aka my sweet cousin’s) wedding reminded me why I picked up a camera in the first place. It was never about chasing aesthetics or building a portfolio. It was about people. About relationships. About bearing witness to moments that will never happen again in quite the same way.

I love the quiet glances before the ceremony.
The way hands find each other without thinking.
The deep breaths. The laughter that spills out unexpectedly.
The feeling in the room when two people choose each other, out loud, in front of everyone they love.

And getting to do that for family? That’s a gift I’ll never take lightly.
