Is your customer base growing steadily?
Here are some of the marketing tips I use for each of my clients.
Knowing your audience is key and you can never know too much about your audience.
Have you created a buyer persona for your ideal customer?
How old are they, where do they live, what are their hobbies, what makes them happy.
The better your buyer persona is, the easier it is to make marketing decisions that convert.
Keeping the end-user in mind when creating your website, funnel, content, and storefront will make it easier for a customer to buy.
Too many obstacles will negatively affect your sales and growth.
If you actively provide priceless value directed to the pain-points of your buyer's persona, you will build a following of only your ideal customers.
Eventually, when they are ready they will likely purchase your products or services because trust was established between your brand and themselves.

I have always thought to simplify business into 2 key parts.
1. Make a good product
2. Bring people to that product
If your business is not reaching your sales goals you may be neglecting one of these two steps.

You may have the greatest product on earth, but if no one knows about it how would you sell it?
If you make a great product and market it to the right audience, you will simply receive more sales.
If you notice that your customers are not returning often, it could mean your product or service has room for improvement.
Market research can be a very helpful tool to answer questions for your business.

Questions like:
1. Who exactly is my target audience & what do they want?
2. Why do people prefer my competition?
3. What would they improve about my product?

Continuously improving these two key aspects will ensure long-lasting success for your business.

How familiar are you with your website's current ranking keywords and on-page SEO score?
A lot of business owners are too busy to keep up with their SEO.
Search Engine Optimization can bring you thousands of organic website visitors each month.
If your main source of business is from referrals, imagine having a second stream of business with people in the market for what you sell, finding your business on Google.
SEO is a long term strategy to keep your business consistently getting new customers.
The key things to note are:
1. SEO takes time, on average it takes 3-6 months to start seeing organic improvement from your SEO efforts.
2. Consistently posting quality original content with a specific call to action at the end is the lifeblood of SEO.
3. Reaching out to 1-10 blogs per month to request guest posts and backlinks. Quality backlinks from high authority websites can help boost your traffic quickly.
4. Monitoring and optimizing your on-page score to please the search engine algorithms to give your website the best chance possible for ranking.

It is important to reach out to new people and speak.
There are a few books that say you should be giving your business card out to 3 new people every day.
My agency has worked with a lot of local businesses but before they became clients they were business contacts first.

It's no secret that people only buy from who they trust.
In the B2B industry, people only work with those they trust.
The best advice I could ever give you is to network like crazy.
Meet and speak to new business contacts weekly and try to practice the BNI philosophy of Givers Gain.
When you are speaking to new people try to find a way you can help them achieve their goals.
The best way to get someone to care about you is to show that you care about them.

I would recommend joining 3 types of networking groups:
1. Your industry-specific networking group
2. Your target audience specific networking group
3. A general business group (with various kinds of other businesses)

In addition to these in-person networking groups, I would also recommend reaching out to 1-5 people on LinkedIn per day.
Send them a message and ask for a time for a zoom call to learn about each other's business.

Remember, your network is your net worth!

Do you know by memory your customer's average lifetime value?
Are you focusing on increasing brand loyalty?

The truth is, people only buy from people they trust.
The biggest aspect of what I do is grow trust amongst my client's and their audience.
However one of the greatest forms of marketing is word-of-mouth.
If I trust my friend, and they trust your business, then I will trust your business.
Do you have any marketing automation or follow up process in place for customers?
You should set up a confirmation email that also gives a coupon for the customer's next purchase.
This would be a great way of having a returning customer.
Also allowing customers who give referrals for other customers can be incentivized by free products or discounted services.
At checkout for a physical store location, you can offer a last minute 15% off if the customer posts and tags your business on their profile.
This will expand your reach 10x.
The average Instagram account has over 150 followers.
Lastly, encouraging happy customers to leave good reviews really helps your local SEO.
If your store is the highest rated store in your area, you will surpass your competition in search results.
Over time with enough customers spreading a good word about your business you will see a domino effect of traffic and sales.

Here are some helpful tools you can use to implement this strategy:
1. Active Campaigns - Email and SMS software to follow up with past customers
2. Zapier - Marketing automation tool that can be used once a customer purchases a product
3. Affiliate WP - WordPress plugin to set up an affiliate program on your website

A lot of clients but not a lot to show for it?
This is a very common issue I see across all industries.
Specifically, I see it most in B2B industries.
Appealing to a vague audience only allows for unideal clients.
You will see a lot of advice on the internet about picking a niche in your industry, this gives you a huge advantage.
Not only does specializing allow you to refine your craft for a single industry (making you an industry expert), but it will be easier to sign ideal clients for your business.
"Hello, I work with X businesses like yours to solve your common issues of X".
When a business owner is looking for services like yours, most likely they are going to search on google "industry" + "service".
This will allow you to stand out more and be discovered more than your competitors.
Then since you specialize in the industry you service, you are able to speak to industry-specific problems that you know how to solve.
Your business will start speaking to more ideal clients and have better-targeted outreach.
Opposed to a shot in the dark.
