We look back and remember being vibrant and young and now we're not that anymore.
Not because of age.

Because we got buried beneath everything.
The invisible work of carrying other people's lives.

I don't think the dream is independence.

I think the dream is relief.

Welcome to Storm & Ink.

This page is for the women who somehow became the default person for everyone else's life.

The one who remembers the birthdays, manages the schedules, finds the missing things, carries the emotional weather, and somehow keeps everything moving while wondering why she's exhausted.

Here you'll find stories, humor, observations, uncomfortable truths, and the occasional battle cry.

If you've ever fantasized about a small apartment over a grocery store, not because you wanted less life but because you wanted less responsibility, you're probably in the right place.

Lately I've been thinking about how many women seem to share the same fantasy. Not a mansion, a luxury condo, or a prince. A small apartment over a grocery store.

The older I get, the more I think the appeal has very little to do with living alone.

The apartment is just the symbol.

I don't think the dream is independence.

I think the dream is relief.

If that resonates, you're probably in the right place.

After 35 years, she finally submitted her resignation letter.

Not from her job.

From being the unpaid infrastructure for everyone else.

This came from something I wrote this week.

At some point women stopped being wives and became customer support for the entire household
Apparently I’m now:
Alexa
Google
Inventory management
Calendar support
And location services
This came from something I wrote this week.
