One week until my annual trip to Ely, NV for Fears Tears and Beers, the oldest enduro mountain bike race in the US, if not the world. Here are a few photos from last year's race. I love this race and I love riding in Ely.

Some of my Best Worst Season photo highlights. It's funny - I actually skied more this winter and had one of the best powder days in recent memory. Ten years in (I think it's actually eleven) as an Alta photographer and I still can't believe I get paid to do this 🙏

The local trail scenery is decent. The descents aren't bad, either (that's a spelling/language joke for my nerd followers). If anyone needs professional mountain bike or other outdoor photos, I've got locations galore.

Just because Alta is closed for the season doesn't mean you can't keep enjoying the winter scenery. I made this two-frame panorama of Devil's Castle right after a big storm. It's available now, along with a lot of other Alta photos, in my Photo-John Fine Art Print Store. See more photos and order prints here: https://photojohn.zenfolio.com/f422948353

A panorama I made a couple of days ago near the top of Supreme lift at Alta. The most prominent peak at the left is Devil's Castle. To the right of that is Sugarloaf Peak, then Baldy and the Backside/Greeley ridgeline. Hidden in the clouds to the right of Backside is Mt. Superior. And on the far right you can see a little bit of the Supreme lift, just before it reaches the top. We've got a little over a week left of lift operations at Alta. Although it's been a very dry winter, the skiing has been surprisingly good and our base is holding up well. There's even snow in the forecast tonight and next week. We might end the season skiing powder.

A multiframe Lone Peak panorama I made last week. Thanks to clouds in the west bouncing saturated light across the West Desert and into the Salt Lake Valley, the pink glow lasted well after sunset. I love it when we get light like this! Let me know if you'd like a print of this one. It's a huge file and can be printed as big as you want.
