As we settle into quarantined life as self-employed there are so many questions running through our minds...

I'm sure much, much more will come from this as we transition from an old industrial age and ascend into the digital age where we (human kind) learn to follow our own passions and still find ways to serve and support one another through e-commerce, technology, medical advancements, energy advancements, financial and ecosystem friendly economies...the possibilities are endless!

My question is this...after all of this, who really wants to go back to their "old" way of living 🧐?

There is so much opportunity to come from this 🤩. But you got to go inside to find it 🚪. Looking outside for new information in this changing economy will get you stuck or worse 😓

Jeff Olson in the book the Slight Edge shares this relationship building concept.

NOW is the best time to use it to your advantage.

It's time to start reaching out to your top/best customers.

NOTE: See how they are doing, Not to sell

-Send them an email
-Send them a text message
-Make an actual phone call

Get some feedback on what could make your business more attractive to them or to others.

Ask them about the last experience they had when they last shopped/visited with you.

Just start reaching out and see how your customers are doing.

Keeping them top of mind, will keep your business top of mind.

Also, make sure you practice your listening skills here. Also, make sure you write down/take notes of your conversation. Be mindful of your customers and a little about their lives. People enjoy that you remember them and care for them. That is relationship building!!!

during times like these, we as small business owners need to take some time to evaluate where and how we can adapt.

we need to find unique and creative ways to deliver the products and services that our customers want from us.

I was on the phone with restaurant who shall remain nameless who is opposed to using delivery services but also will not allow their employees to deliver food.

FYI...if you oppose options and opportunities, then perhaps you are asking for your small business to shut down.

We need to be open minded and at least look at what might be available.

I WISH all the best to our small businesses, and lean on one another if you must.
