Just reaching out to everyone...Hoping that everyone is well and healthy. It maybe challenging, but it's a beautiful day today.
Everything is so topsy-curvy. This past few weeks have been so unreal, in a twilight-zone kind of way. Working from my home office is normal for me, but the closure of schools and businesses is so bizarre. So many everyday things that we took for granted, now placed on hold or canceled. I stood in-line yesterday morning for over 1-1/2 hour at Costco, just to get the basics – yes, we now have our bulk package of toilet paper! Seeing people wearing gloves made sense to me, as did wiping down the handles on the grocery carts, but the sea of masked faces or the full hazmat suit that someone else was wearing was startling. Seeing the ravaged empty shelves, I understand the panic and the need to just buy that last can of beans. Starting to feel like our home is now our fort, our castle, one that we must defend and fortify.
David and I are doing well, as is our family. There is no immediate health crisis for us. In the midst of our own personal battles, we need to remember those on the front line, our first responders and medical professionals, always there protecting and serving the community unselfishly. Think of our teachers as they creatively reach out, to encourage or corral their wayward students. Think of those who may be struggling economically and/or health-wise, to show compassion and offer kindness.
Be humble. Stay strong.
