Above every lake, ocean, or puddle sits the full weight of the atmosphere; roughly 14.7 pounds per square inch pressing down. That pressure doesn’t crush the water because water pushes back with equal force. It’s a balance; pressure meeting pressure.

When you float on water you are suspended exactly in that balance; gravity pulling you down, buoyancy pushing you up, the surface quietly stretching beneath you. The atmosphere still weighs the same as before. The ocean is still deep and immense. The pressure hasn’t disappeared.

Yet you feel peace.

Because peace isn’t the absence of pressure; it’s the moment when the forces meet in harmony. When the push and pull settle into agreement.
