Today is National Voter Registration Day. Are you registered to vote?

At HMG we had the honor of working with a local San Diegan who is working on earning her Girl Scout Gold Award. Unbeknownst to us, this is the highest honor a young woman can earn- and we were ecstatic to be a part of her journey!

The project she chose was to increase voter registration (and voter turnout) and educate young people about their right to vote, pre-registering to vote at age 16 and 17 and voting at 18. A cause we at HMG were excited to get behind!

We partnered with the County of San Diego Registrar of Voters to create social media posts, flyers, infographics and a toolkit. Take a look and register to vote at www.sdvote.com!!

First, a huge shout out to the mom's out there. You are doing amazing things!!!

Second, I'm lucky to have an amazing mom that for most of my life was a single, working- mom and business owner. She always had these great one liners that she would use on me when I needed them the most. Most of the time I would let them go in one ear and out the other. But today, these are amazing nuggets that I hold dearly.

One of those nuggets she gave me at a young age was 'Actions speak louder than words,' and boy, it couldn't be more true. I'm a woman of my word- if I say I'm going to do something, you better believe I will do it.

But how many times have you received lip service or words, with no action???

Client Spotlight- Family Proud

One of the things that causes me a lot of stress, as I am now running my own business, is the fear of my children being heard in the background of a conference call along with the crying and fighting. As we all have been thrust into this new world order, its comforting to know first, I'm not alone and second, its an accepted and encouraged practice to include your children- pets included.

Last week my 4 year old daughter came into my office naked while I was presenting brand work on a video conference call and asked me to help her get dressed. Thankfully my client was extremely understanding but I was mortified. I will say this- every single one of us needs to be held, needs love and support and encouragement. If it helps my daughter to sit on my lap while I conduct business, so be it. I'm not going to fight it or allow it to cause me stress anymore.
