Paying off the world's most expensive bachelor's degree, 850-1000 words at a time.
Look for either or both of these features in an upcoming issue of DSPORT Magazine.

It's that time of year again when my driving skills have absolutely nothing to do with the award plaque pictured as it was another "your idea, my design" work produced for the Wilwood Racing Corvette Challenge Championship by way of Speed Ventures ( ). Does your company need a trophy that I'll never be able to win? Holler at this boy of yours.

AE86 is what I wrote in my friends' yearbooks in middle school but it's also the year I got my first skateboard and also the chassis code for a very popular rear-wheel drive Toyota from the '80s that was the inspiration for the FT86 concept car revealed in 2010-ish that eventually led to three manufacturers releasing production cars and a flurry of fan/enthusiast companies and organizations that adopted the 86 part for their names. /runonsentence
This is a shirt design created from customer 86Fest's ( 86FEST ) idea of the sporty 86 platform handling as well as 80s-era slot cars. See if you can spot which of the bird's-eye view 86s are of the AE variety and which or of the GT variety, then think of how old you are if you saw the introduction and dissolution of several car manufacturers, including Scion who produced their 86 version called the FR-S.

I've always had a thing for t-shirt prints, and have been tinkering with random artwork that could be thrown on a t-shirt or used as a board graphic or whatever for quite some time. As I continue my transition to a regular 9-to-5 and throttle back the APEworks stuff, I find that now is as good a time as any to get these out there, even if only for a value meal's worth of passive income from RedBubble. Imagine my surprise when I came across Alfonso Rawls' Everybody Skates ( / Everybodyskates LTD ) that has already been doing this for years and doing a bang-up job, might I add. So if you're t-shirt like-minded, support Everybody Skates or me (if my RedBubble submission clears parody fair usage) and buy a t-shirt today. Shoutout to the legend Jeremy Wray (tagged in an earlier FB post of this pic) for the props on this Bruce Lee x Jeremy Wray homage.

I've been very "Forrest Gumpy" in my career in that I've always preferred to be a background lurky-lurky kind of guy. Take, for example, the car pictured here - the infamous Sierra Sierra EVO known as "Christine." This car and team seemingly came out of nowhere, kicked ass and took names and took some track records with it, then up and disappeared to be forever retired with its global "legend" status.
My part in this? Back in 2010 If you got all excited about this "new" record-setting EVO and jumped on the internet to check out the SSE website, you were looking at my work. Commissioned by a referral from Dai Lo himself ( / Eric Hsu ) I cranked that site out from N**s' ( / John Naderi ) direction and instruction faster than their CW13 track record and ultimately worked with Glorious Leader DK to package the site and send it to his private servers for archival purposes when he finally pulled the plug.
And that's all I have to say about that.

The H22 Freeway Bombinator was the last project car I ever owned. After my dreams of Bonneville Salt Flat domination were shot down by Eric Hsu / (To wit, "You don't have the balls or the wallet to drive that thing competitively at Bonneville") I settled for a daily-driven freeway commuter that continued the legacy of demolishing Saleen Mustangs on I-5 with its Designcraft Fab / -mounted H22A1 and DFI EMS. I always got the feeling that Gary never really liked this showcase of some of his earlier work, but it was my second favorite car I owned.
Since the car was stolen around this time-of-year 20 years ago, I never got a chance to complete it. Now, with garage space, time, and funding slowly becoming a reality, I'm just about ready to jump into another project, but the premium "Honda tax" is way too high to go this route again and E39 M5 and E46 M3 are way out of my budget/knowledge/abilities. It might be time for another R53 Mini.
