It’s been quiet around here because I’ve been busy getting married! (And there was also a bot attack in March - April that was top priority. More to come 😅)

But I wanted to say thank you to all of the incredible clients who have been so patient and generous throughout this past month! It means so much to me to be able to fully soak in this new stage of life, and excited to get back to work!

A Blüm Day is a design intensive, where we work 1:1 on anything you need for a 4-hour time period. You set your priorities for the day, and then we get straight to work via screen share. You can have as much or as little input as you’d like, but you’ll be able to see my progress at any point during the 4 hour period.

🌸What’s the difference between a Blüm Day and other services?🌸

A Blüm Day is an alternative to a full web design project! With a more affordable price point and short time horizon, it’s perfect for getting a project completed quickly and with a smaller budget. You may choose to work on a website, or maybe your top priority project is setting up an email newsletter. The Blüm Day structure is more flexible than the full web design process because our time together is condensed.

A few recent logo concepts, plus announcements on this moody morning ☁️

The fact that it’s November still blows my mind… which brings up a few things! We are in the thick of Q4, and that means the holidays and the end of the year are not far away. With that being said, here’s what’s happening this month…

WEBSITE DEADLINE

Want a new website before the end of the year? Schedule a consultation for next week because the deadline is NEXT FRIDAY, 11/12.

AD CAMPAIGNS

Ad campaigns are CLOSED through the rest of 2021 because of competitive ad spend around the holiday season.

Why?

Small businesses don’t typically see the same return on investment for ad spend during Black Friday - Christmas unless you’ve built some traction with a current campaign. But new campaigns would launch within the next 2 weeks, which is too close to Thanksgiving and too late to move the needle.

That being said, ad campaigns will be back up and kicking in 2022 and I’d love to help with other marketing channels in the meantime (email marketing is a key channel during the holidays!)

What goes into a website? It comes down to: Strategy, Design, and Time.

STRATEGY 🤓

This is the first step, and should never be skipped! A lot of people launch straight into the design phase, but no matter what business or industry you’re in, you should always think about your goals first. The strategy phase is also helpful for getting clear on your branding (images, colors, brand voice) and your focus or niche… which is used later on for SEO!

DESIGN 🎨

Web design is art art, part science. It combines best practices in user experience design (who clicks where, when, and why) with visually pleasing layouts and features. Design is an iterative process, meaning the first version is rarely the final version. This helps everyone get on board with the design and content before the final website launch.

TIME ⏰

A crucial and intangible part of what goes into a website! But web design takes time because there are so many factors at play, from choosing images and colors to optimizing for SEO and making sure the website loads quickly. Our process is typically 4-6 weeks, which means the 2021 launch cutoff is quickly approaching!
