This one's been a long time in the making. And a really special one.

Back in January I helped Christopher and Jamie Reimer write a grant proposal. And this morning Pedretti's Bakery posted a glimpse of the finished product.

When I took this project on, I was nervous about how I was going to pull it off. I mean, it was a big project. The grant proposal, and then every piece of executing it: the brand, the website, the menus, the social media. And pulling together the local people who built the rest. The photography, the sign, the cases, the window display, the aprons, the brick, the print. Every name on that list is someone I'd work with again tomorrow.

And underneath all of it, one goal. Never to rebrand the bakery or modernize everything. It was to stay true to what Pedretti's Bakery has been since 1968 and give it a facelift that finally felt like one piece. Same recipes. Same faces. Just cared for.

Couldn't be prouder of how it turned out and of this town for showing up for it. Go get a donut and celebrate with us. 🍩

You might've noticed things look a little different around here. ❤️

New sign. New menu boards. New tray labels, New window display, New website, New aprons, Fresh paint. A refreshed look all around.

But the things that matter most haven't changed—same recipes, same faces, and the same 9 PM start for the baker and 4 AM alarm for our staff to make sure your favorite baked goods are fresh every morning.

So freaking proud of this one. 😍

Watching my friend and client build Styled Abode into what it is today has been pretty dang special.

I love seeing women-owned, small-town businesses dream BIG and go for it. You don’t have to be in a big city to have big dreams or build something amazing.

So excited to cheer on my friend Becky on Monday!

I’m heading to Osceola, IA a day early next week for the Main Street Fall Workshop so I can be there to celebrate Becky and Styled Abode as a 2026 Open 4 Business finalist! 🎉

I’ve had the joy of helping Becky bring her new Shopify website to life, so getting to be there for this moment feels extra special. And let’s be honest, her store and her beautifully curated style make our Main Street Elkader just a little more charming. ❤️

Meet another 2026 Open 4 Business finalist! ⭐ Up next: Styled Abode in Elkader. 🛍️

What started with years of blogging and shopping weekends on Rebecca Dempster’s farm became a downtown storefront in 2021. Today, Styled Abode is filled with thoughtfully sourced home décor, gifts, books, fragrance, art and more — with an emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and products that are “good for all.”

Now, Rebecca is ready for the next chapter. If awarded Open 4 Business funding, Styled Abode would move into a larger vacant downtown storefront and expand its offerings to include women’s clothing and accessories.

The move would mean more room to shop, new products to explore and another vacant storefront brought back to life — all while helping fill a gap in Elkader’s downtown retail scene following the recent closure of two local boutiques.

The finalists will take the stage October 5 in Osceola to pitch their plans and compete for funding to help bring their next chapter to life.

Today I'm gonna say it: I’m so tired of template-y looking websites. 😅

So I have working on designing and building websites that are deeply interactive much like my work on Pedretti's Bakery website.

I've been part of Art in the Park Fine Art Festival since I moved to Elkader. First as an artist and for the last four years as a designer, marketer and a committee member.

And after designing this years program I realized that festivals have so much dense information to communicate. We invested so much time into organizing all this information I wanted to see this program VISUALLY come to life.

So here's my take on Art in the Park Fine Art Festival's website. 🎨

A new site with an interactive map so you can plan your day before you even get to Founders' Park. Find your favorite artists, see who's new this year, see where the food is at, find parking and if you are planning ahead to stay the weekend you have all the information to explore our charming City of Elkader and Main Street Elkader.

Good design isn't just pretty. It makes your life easier and maybe even a little fun. That was the whole goal here.

Big things are happening in downtown Elkader!

While I help Old Crow Mercantile transition into their online era, Turkey River Arts and Music (TRAM) is making that same space its new home. And I also get to help them with their branding and marketing as they begin their journey.

Elkader’s creative scene just keeps growing. And I’m so proud I get to be part of so many stories.
