The most successful chapters of BNI are comprised of participants who are sincerely committed to helping one another through networking. They are a team. As a participant in BNI, you are responsible for complying with the policies and guidelines of the organization. A partial list of the policies of BNI are listed below. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW -Only one person from each professional specialty is permitted to join a chapter of BNI. -All participants should represent their primary occupation, not a part-time business. -Attendance is critical. If you cannot attend a meeting, you may send a substitute. This will not count as an absence. -Participation in the chapter by members is a key to the success of a group. Members can participate by bringing bona-fide referrals and/or visitors to their BNI chapter. MEETINGS Meetings take place weekly, allowing the members of BNI to share referrals, offer testimonials, inform each other of new products and services their business offers, and participate in training and exercises to help one another become the most effective representatives for all of our businesses. BNI meets in Santa Maria, at the International House of Pancakes at 202 Nicholson Avenue. We meet each Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Breakfast is, of course, available to order. Each week we have a feature speaker, chosen in rotation from our membership. Guest speakers are also invited on occasion. Prospective members may join us for two meetings prior to joining BNI; however, guests must be sponsored by a member business prior to attending.
