Our Latino Collaborative recently met at Manatee Community Foundation to learn about Suncoast Prosper, a Manatee County proposal to provide additional financial support to local adults returning to school and first-time students. We also discussed the importance of accessible public higher education in Florida, especially for the growing Latino population and immigrants.

Coming from studying design academically and doing freelancing, I came into this internship at GARCIA looking for a bridge between my classes and real world industries. I wanted to see how my design work could actually function within the bigger picture of PR and community advocacy.
