IG is finally putting down the hammer when it comes to bot profiles, spam and unwanted “promotions” … HALLELUJAH.
They are in the process of rolling out what they call Proactive Safety Tools.
In a statement by Instagram, they state:
“We’ve improved our automated detection of spam across many of the areas where you feel it the most: Spammy comments & tags, story views, and fake followers”.
This will look like:
👉🏼Improved automated detection of spam and bot profiles
👉🏼New tools enabling bulk removal of spam & bot followers
👉🏼Actionable steps on spam tags, with a new process that will enable you to bulk review all suspect tags
👉🏼Experimenting hiding views on your Stories that it’s detected as originating from likely spam accounts.
👉🏼All those suspected spam or bot accounts that they’re preventing from following you will be automatically filtered into a separate inbox for you to review, along with any existing followers they think may be spam or bot accounts .
(things are about to get interesting for accounts who purchased their followers 👀).
👉🏼 While IG already proactively hides comments on your posts that could be spammy or offensive through the Hidden Words tool, they are increasing the strength to detect and hide spammy comments to filter out suspected spam as well.
In addition, Instagram states it will be rolling out features to help users understand if their content may not be shown to new accounts due to restrictions, violations or spam detection to better help users understand and navigate these issues.
We don’t know about you, but we are so here for these changes and getting rid of the wild account story views 🍑👀 and unwanted “promote I-T” comments.
