“My product is too niche. People aren't searching for it.”

If you sell something people don't really know exists, you've probably thought some version of this.

And it can make your options for finding new customers feel pretty limited.

People aren't going to Google and typing in the name of your product.

So you rely on Instagram to put it in front of them.

Or ads.

Or influencers.

Or Amazon.

Or getting it into stores.

Basically, someone or something has to introduce people to your product first...

One of my clients sells a pretty niche natural supplement.

And they're right: not that many people are searching for the exact product they sell.

Their product and collection pages actually bring in very little NEW traffic on their own.

But the people who could benefit from this kind of product ARE searching.

They're searching for the problems they're trying to solve.

They're asking questions about those problems.

They're researching ingredients and different options.

They're trying to figure out what might help.

So that's where we've focused.

We created content that answers the questions their potential customers are already typing into Google.

And that's where a lot of new people enter the website.

Someone comes in with a problem.

They find an article that helps answer their question.

And while they're there, they discover a product they didn't even know to search for.

We can actually see people moving from those articles into the product pages.

And more importantly, we can see it turning into sales.

When we started working together, organic search accounted for about 9% of the company's revenue.

Now it's at about 40%.

Because we knew that the people who need it are searching for their problems, questions, and answers. And we capitalized on THAT.

Then, the product is introduced as the solution.

Then they click.

Then they buy.

You’re making sales. But do you know which parts of your marketing are actually helping you build a stronger business?

It’s surprisingly easy to grow while becoming MORE dependent on the things you have to constantly feed.

More money into ads.

More posts on social.

More promotions.

More effort just to keep the sales coming.

And sometimes you’re so busy running the business that you never really stop and look at the bigger picture:

❓Where are our best customers actually coming from?

❓Which channels are the most profitable?

❓What would happen if we stopped paying for ads tomorrow?

❓Are new people discovering us, or are we mostly selling to people who already know us?

❓And is there an opportunity we’re completely underusing?

I made a free Website Growth Check to help business owners step back and look at exactly that.

It takes you through a handful of questions about how your business gets customers now, where your revenue comes from, what you’re spending to get it, and how much your website is actually contributing.

At the end, you’ll have a much better idea of whether your website is already doing its job, whether there’s an untapped opportunity there, or whether your energy is probably better spent somewhere else.

Because I don’t think every business needs to invest more in its website, but I DO think it’s worth knowing whether yours could be doing a whole lot more than it is now.

I love when I can connect with someone who just gets it, you know?!

I network with a lot of fractional c-suite people, and Ariana is a fCOO who takes founders from trying to manage everything themselves to something sustainable with growth.

I wrote this guest blog post for her about the importance of hiring for growth. Instead of just hiring activity-doers.

Have a read! 👇

More marketing hires don't always mean more results. Jessica Stegner shares why execution-only teams create expensive noise — and what ownership-level hiring actually looks like.

Branding With Intention
March 25th 10-12
Renton

In this session, I will show how intentional brand messaging, especially clearly defined differentiators, directly impacts SEO and conversions. I’ll walk through how to identify what actually sets your business apart from your competitors and translate that into messaging that both search engines and customers understand, instead of relying on vague, generic, or overly clever taglines.

There will be other speakers and a branding photographer there as well!

Here’s the link to sign up.

Finding those unique SEO opportunities for businesses that skyrocket sales is one of my favorite things about my job.

Are you measuring your SEO success with revenue?

If not, it probably feels like a slow, traffic growing process that you don’t have time or money for.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. My clients see revenue growth within the first month or two or revenue-focused SEO.
