🚨🎢 IN PIGEON FORGE FOR THE WEEKEND? HERE'S HOW TO AVOID WASTING HALF YOUR VACATION IN TRAFFIC, LONG LINES AND EXPENSIVE TOURIST TRAPS! 😳

YOU HAVE 48 HOURS IN PIGEON FORGE...

And here's how a lot of visitors spend them:

🚗 2 hours sitting on the Parkway.
🥞 90 minutes waiting for breakfast.
🎟️ $300 or more on attractions for the family.
🍽️ Another small fortune on restaurants.
🅿️ Driving around looking for parking.
😩 And by Sunday afternoon, everybody is exhausted, the kids are cranky, and you're wondering where the weekend went!

SOUND FAMILIAR? 😂

Here's what we've learned about Pigeon Forge...

YOU CAN SPEND A FORTUNE HERE AND STILL MISS SOME OF THE BEST THINGS TO DO!

We've seen families try to squeeze Dollywood, The Island, Titanic, a mountain coaster, a dinner show, shopping, mini golf and five restaurants into ONE WEEKEND.

And we're thinking...

WHEN ARE YOU ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO RELAX?! 😂

So we put together how WE would spend an incredible weekend in Pigeon Forge.

Where we'd eat.

Which attractions we'd choose.

What we'd skip.

How we'd avoid some of the worst traffic.

And a few things you can enjoy without spending a fortune!

Whether it's your FIRST visit or your FIFTIETH, this guide might save you some serious time and money.

📲 SAVE THIS POST BEFORE YOUR NEXT TRIP!

🏔️ FRIDAY — ARRIVE, UNPACK AND ENJOY PIGEON FORGE AT NIGHT!

🚗 3:00–5:00 PM — CHECK IN AND GET SETTLED

First things first...

DON'T TRY TO DO EVERYTHING ON FRIDAY!

You've probably already spent hours driving.

Get checked into your cabin, hotel or resort.

Unpack.

Relax for a little while.

And if you're traveling with kids, give everybody a chance to unwind before heading out.

Here's a tip we think more visitors should follow...

If you're staying somewhere close to the attractions you plan to visit, group those activities together instead of constantly driving up and down the Parkway.

You'll thank us later! 😂

🍽️ 6:00 PM — DINNER!

Now here's where the arguments are going to start!

A few of our Pigeon Forge favorites and recommendations:

🍔 LOCAL GOAT

One of our favorite choices for a good burger and a relaxed dinner.

And yes, we're putting Local Goat right at the top!

🍗 THE OLD MILL RESTAURANT

A Pigeon Forge tradition!

Southern comfort food, generous meals and an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're experiencing a little piece of the area's history.

🍽️ PAULA DEEN'S FAMILY KITCHEN

A popular choice for families who enjoy Southern-style food served family-style.

🥩 ALAMO STEAKHOUSE

Another restaurant we'd consider when we're in the mood for a good steak.

🚨 OUR ADVICE:

During busy weekends, popular restaurants can have LONG waits.

Check whether reservations or waitlists are available.

And if you're hungry at 6 PM on a Saturday in October...

Well, good luck! 😂

🌙 7:30 PM — THE ISLAND IN PIGEON FORGE!

THIS is where we'd spend our first evening.

And here's something we love about The Island...

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND A FORTUNE TO ENJOY IT!

There's no general admission charge to walk around.

You can enjoy:

⛲ The Island Show Fountain
🎡 The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel
🛍️ Shops
🍦 Ice cream and sweet treats
🎶 Music and entertainment
🍽️ Restaurants
🎮 Family activities

One of our favorite things is simply watching the fountain show at night.

The lights, music and atmosphere make it a great way to kick off your weekend.

And if you want to ride the Wheel, the views of Pigeon Forge can be beautiful!

Just remember that individual rides and attractions cost extra.

❤️ FRIDAY NIGHT TIP:

Don't stay out until midnight if you're planning to visit Dollywood the next morning.

Because Saturday is going to be a BIG day!

🎢 SATURDAY — DOLLYWOOD DAY!

⏰ 7:00 AM — GET UP EARLY!

YES, EVEN ON VACATION! 😂

If there's one thing we can tell you about visiting Dollywood during busy season...

ARRIVING EARLY MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!

Don't wait until everybody finishes breakfast at 10 AM before deciding to head to the park.

By then, you could already be dealing with traffic, parking lines and growing attraction waits.

🥞 7:30 AM — BREAKFAST!

A few options we'd consider:

🥞 THE OLD MILL POTTERY HOUSE CAFÉ & GRILLE

A great option for breakfast when its morning hours fit your plans.

🍳 SAWYER'S FARMHOUSE BREAKFAST

A popular Pigeon Forge breakfast stop with pancakes, waffles and hearty breakfast plates.

🥓 MEL'S CLASSIC DINER

A nostalgic diner atmosphere with traditional breakfast favorites.

🥞 RED ROOSTER PANCAKE HOUSE

Another option for visitors who want a classic pancake breakfast.

BUT HERE'S OUR BIGGEST TIP...

If you're going to Dollywood, don't spend 90 minutes waiting for breakfast first!

Eat at your hotel, cabin or somewhere quick.

You can enjoy a big restaurant breakfast on Sunday.

🎢 9:00 AM — HEAD TO DOLLYWOOD!

Now let's talk about one of the biggest attractions in the Smokies.

DOLLYWOOD!

Whether you love roller coasters, live entertainment, crafts or just walking through the park, there's a lot to enjoy.

Some of the attractions people come for include:

🎢 Lightning Rod
🎢 Wild Eagle
🎢 Thunderhead
🎢 Big Bear Mountain
🎢 Mystery Mine
🚂 Dollywood Express

And let's not forget the shows, craftspeople, seasonal decorations and food!

But here's where visitors make a HUGE mistake...

THEY TRY TO DO EVERYTHING IN ONE DAY!

Depending on the crowds, that may not be realistic.

So here's how we'd handle it.

🔥 OUR DOLLYWOOD GAME PLAN:

1️⃣ ARRIVE BEFORE OPENING!

Get through parking and security before the biggest crowds arrive.

2️⃣ PICK YOUR MUST-DO RIDES FIRST!

Don't wander around for an hour trying to decide what to do.

3️⃣ USE THE DOLLYWOOD APP!

Check ride wait times, show schedules and park information.

4️⃣ DON'T SKIP THE SHOWS!

Dollywood is about more than roller coasters.

5️⃣ TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE ICE WATER!

Ask at participating food locations.

6️⃣ CONSIDER TIME SAVER IF IT MAKES SENSE!

During very busy periods, it may be worth comparing the cost against the time you could save.

7️⃣ DON'T FORGET THE CINNAMON BREAD! 😂

You know we had to mention it!

8️⃣ CHECK THE PARK CALENDAR!

Dollywood is seasonal, and operating dates and hours vary throughout the year.

🚨 HERE'S SOMETHING IMPORTANT...

IF YOU'RE VISITING DURING OCTOBER, SUMMER OR A HOLIDAY WEEKEND, EXPECT CROWDS!

And if you arrive at noon expecting to ride everything with no waits...

You might be disappointed.

🍗 12:30 PM — LUNCH INSIDE DOLLYWOOD

We'd eat inside the park rather than leaving and wasting time driving around.

Dollywood has several dining options, from quick meals to sit-down restaurants.

Pick something convenient to the area you're exploring.

And remember...

You don't need to eat the biggest meal of your life at lunchtime if you're planning a good dinner later! 😂

🎶 2:00–5:00 PM — SHOWS, RIDES AND EXPLORING

This is when we'd slow things down a little.

Enjoy some live entertainment.

Explore the shops.

Watch the craftspeople.

Take pictures.

And enjoy the park instead of constantly running from ride to ride.

If you're visiting during one of Dollywood's festivals, allow extra time for the decorations and entertainment.

🌙 SATURDAY EVENING — TWO GREAT OPTIONS!

OPTION 1️⃣ — STAY AT DOLLYWOOD!

If the park is open into the evening, enjoy the lights, shows and nighttime atmosphere.

During certain festivals, Dollywood after dark can be absolutely beautiful.

OPTION 2️⃣ — ENJOY A DINNER SHOW!

Now here's where Pigeon Forge really shines.

Some of our favorites include:

🏴‍☠️ PIRATES VOYAGE DINNER & SHOW

Our #1 dinner show pick!

A fun, action-packed experience with pirates, acrobatics, music and a meal.

🤠 HATFIELD & MCCOY DINNER FEUD

Comedy, music, stunts and a good old-fashioned family feud!

🐎 DOLLY PARTON'S STAMPEDE

Horses, entertainment and a classic Pigeon Forge experience.

🪓 PAULA DEEN'S LUMBERJACK FEUD

A fun lumberjack competition show, although food arrangements differ from traditional dinner shows.

🚨 IMPORTANT!

BUY YOUR SHOW TICKETS IN ADVANCE!

Popular showtimes can sell out, especially during weekends, holidays and peak tourist season.

And don't try to squeeze in a dinner show if it means leaving Dollywood early when you're still enjoying yourself.

Pick what matters most to YOUR family.

❤️ SATURDAY NIGHT TIP:

After a full day at Dollywood, there's absolutely nothing wrong with heading back to your cabin and relaxing.

Sometimes that's the BEST decision of the day!

🌄 SUNDAY — THE OLD MILL, A FEW ATTRACTIONS AND ONE LAST ADVENTURE!

🥞 8:00 AM — BREAKFAST!

Sunday is when we'd enjoy a more relaxed breakfast.

And yes, we know some of you are going to tell us your favorite pancake house wasn't on our list! 😂

That's exactly why we want to hear your recommendations in the comments.

🌾 9:30 AM — EXPLORE THE OLD MILL SQUARE!

This is one of our favorite areas to recommend in Pigeon Forge.

There's something special about the historic Old Mill and the surrounding shops.

You can explore:

🌾 The historic Old Mill area
🛍️ The Old Mill General Store
🍬 The Old Mill Candy Kitchen
🏺 Pigeon River Pottery
🍽️ The Old Mill Restaurant
🍰 The Pottery House Café & Grille

You don't have to spend a fortune here.

Sometimes it's just nice to walk around, browse the shops and enjoy the atmosphere.

And if you love old-fashioned Southern food and local history, this area belongs on your list.

🎡 11:00 AM — PICK ONE MORE ATTRACTION!

Now here's where we'd let the family decide.

A few great options:

🚢 TITANIC MUSEUM ATTRACTION

A fascinating experience for visitors interested in history.

🌎 WONDERWORKS

An interactive attraction that's especially popular with families.

❄️ PIGEON FORGE SNOW

Indoor snow tubing that doesn't require waiting for winter!

🏎️ NASCAR SPEEDPARK

Located in nearby Sevierville, this is an option for families who enjoy go-karts and racing attractions.

🎢 A MOUNTAIN COASTER

Pigeon Forge has several mountain coaster experiences.

And if you've never ridden one, they're definitely worth considering!

⛳ MINI GOLF

Sometimes the simplest family activities are the most fun.

And Pigeon Forge has no shortage of mini golf courses!

BUT REMEMBER...

YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ALL OF THESE!

Pick ONE that fits your budget and interests.

🍔 1:00 PM — LUNCH BEFORE HEADING HOME

If you're hungry before leaving town, here's where we'd keep things simple.

Maybe grab a burger.

Enjoy a sandwich.

Or stop somewhere you've been wanting to try.

And here's a money-saving tip...

If you're heading out toward Interstate 40, consider eating outside the busiest tourist areas.

Sometimes you'll find shorter waits and more affordable options.

🚗 2:00–3:00 PM — HEAD HOME!

And if you've ever tried leaving Pigeon Forge during a major holiday or busy Sunday afternoon...

YOU KNOW WHY WE'RE MENTIONING TRAFFIC! 😂

Depending on where you're headed, traffic can build along the Parkway and toward Sevierville.

Check conditions before leaving.

And give yourself extra time.

❤️ THAT'S HOW WE'D SPEND A WEEKEND IN PIGEON FORGE!

BUT WAIT...

HERE ARE 10 THINGS WE THINK EVERY VISITOR SHOULD KNOW!

🚨 1️⃣ DON'T TRY TO DO DOLLYWOOD AND FIVE OTHER ATTRACTIONS IN ONE DAY!

You'll spend more time rushing than enjoying yourself.

🚗 2️⃣ THE PARKWAY CAN GET EXTREMELY BUSY!

Especially during October, summer weekends, holidays and major car shows.

⏰ 3️⃣ EARLY MORNINGS ARE YOUR FRIEND!

Breakfast restaurants, attractions and roads generally become busier as the day goes on.

🎟️ 4️⃣ BUY POPULAR TICKETS IN ADVANCE!

Especially dinner shows and attractions with limited capacity.

💰 5️⃣ WATCH YOUR ATTRACTION BUDGET!

Four tickets here.

Four tickets there.

A few souvenirs.

And suddenly you've spent hundreds of dollars!

🍽️ 6️⃣ DON'T EAT EVERY MEAL AT AN EXPENSIVE RESTAURANT!

If you're staying in a cabin, take advantage of the kitchen.

Even making breakfast can save a family a surprising amount of money.

🛍️ 7️⃣ THERE ARE FREE THINGS TO ENJOY!

Walking around The Island and watching the fountains are great examples.

You don't have to pay admission just to enjoy the atmosphere.

🚗 8️⃣ USE ALTERNATIVE ROADS WHEN THEY MAKE SENSE!

Veterans Boulevard and Teaster Lane can sometimes help you avoid parts of the Parkway.

But remember, they're not magic shortcuts.

During busy events, they can get congested too.

🏔️ 9️⃣ DON'T FORGET THE NATIONAL PARK!

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is nearby.

If you have extra time, consider enjoying a scenic drive or a short nature walk.

The park has no entrance fee, although parking tags are generally required if you park for more than 15 minutes.

❤️ 🔟 LEAVE TIME TO RELAX!

This is probably our biggest piece of advice.

You don't need to spend every waking minute doing something.

Sometimes sitting outside your cabin watching the mountains is better than another $100 attraction.

💰 NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THE REAL COST OF A PIGEON FORGE WEEKEND!

Here's something a lot of visitors don't realize until they get here...

PIGEON FORGE CAN GET EXPENSIVE FAST!

Let's say you're a family of four.

One major attraction could cost several hundred dollars.

Add a dinner show.

Restaurants.

Parking.

Souvenirs.

Snacks.

And your weekend budget can disappear pretty quickly!

That's why we recommend choosing your priorities BEFORE you arrive.

Pick one major attraction.

Choose one special meal or show.

Mix in free or inexpensive activities.

And leave some room in the budget for surprises.

You don't need to spend $1,000 on attractions to have an incredible weekend!

❤️ HERE'S WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT PIGEON FORGE...

There's something for almost everybody.

Families with young kids.

Couples.

Grandparents.

Roller coaster lovers.

People who enjoy shopping.

And visitors who just want to eat some good Southern food and relax.

But the trick is figuring out what YOU actually enjoy.

Not what every advertisement tells you that you HAVE to do.

Because the best vacation isn't necessarily the one where you do the most.

It's the one where you make the best memories.

🔥 NOW HERE'S WHERE WE WANT EVERYBODY TO JOIN IN!

YOU HAVE JUST 48 HOURS IN PIGEON FORGE!

WHAT ARE THREE THINGS YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST DO?

🎢 Dollywood?
🎡 The Island?
🍗 The Old Mill?
🏴‍☠️ Pirates Voyage?
🚢 Titanic Museum?
⛳ Mini golf?
🍔 Your favorite restaurant?
🏡 Or stay at the cabin and enjoy the mountains?

AND HERE'S THE BIG QUESTION...

IF YOU COULD ONLY CHOOSE ONE...

🎢 A FULL DAY AT DOLLYWOOD

OR

🍽️ A GREAT DINNER SHOW AND AN EVENING AT THE ISLAND?

WHICH WOULD YOU PICK?! 👀😂

We have a feeling this one is going to start an argument!

🏔️🔥 IT'S THE WEEKEND AND THE ULTIMATE GATLINBURG WEEKEND GUIDE! 48 HOURS, HUNDREDS OF THINGS TO DO... BUT HERE'S HOW WE'D SPEND OUR WEEKEND!

🚨 FIRST-TIME VISITORS, READ THIS BEFORE YOU COME TO GATLINBURG!

And if you've been coming to the Smokies for 20 years, we want to know if you agree with our choices! 😂

Here's something we've learned about Gatlinburg...

You can spend an entire weekend here, spend a small fortune, fight traffic, stand in lines and STILL miss some of the best things the area has to offer!

The problem?

Everybody tries to do EVERYTHING!

And trust us, that's nearly impossible in one weekend.

So we're putting together what WE think is a pretty incredible Gatlinburg weekend.

A little sightseeing.

Some great food.

A few attractions.

Beautiful mountain scenery.

And most importantly, time to actually ENJOY being in the Smokies!

📲 SAVE THIS POST! You'll want it when planning your next trip.

🏔️ FRIDAY — ARRIVE, EXPLORE AND ENJOY GATLINBURG AT NIGHT!

🚗 3:00–5:00 PM — ARRIVE AND CHECK IN

Whether you're staying in a cabin, hotel or condo, our first recommendation is simple.

DON'T TRY TO DO TOO MUCH ON FRIDAY!

You've probably already spent hours driving.

Check in, unpack and enjoy where you're staying.

And here's a tip...

If you're staying within walking distance of downtown Gatlinburg, LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE PARKED!

Downtown traffic and parking can eat up a surprising amount of your vacation.

🍽️ 6:00 PM — DINNER IN GATLINBURG

Here are a few places we'd consider:

🥩 The Alamo Steakhouse — One of our favorites for a good steak.

🍖 The Peddler Steakhouse — A longtime Gatlinburg favorite, especially if you enjoy the atmosphere along the river.

🍔 Cherokee Grill — A solid choice for a relaxed dinner downtown.

🌲 The Park Grill — A beautiful mountain-lodge atmosphere near the national park entrance.

Our advice?

Make reservations where available, especially during October, summer weekends and holidays.

Because waiting two hours for dinner isn't exactly how we want to start a vacation! 😂

🌙 7:30 PM — WALK DOWNTOWN GATLINBURG

THIS is one of the things that makes Gatlinburg special!

The lights.

The shops.

The smell of candy being made.

The people walking along the Parkway.

And the mountains surrounding everything.

Stop by:

🍬 Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen
🛍️ The Village Shops
🌙 Ole Smoky Moonshine Holler
🍦 One of the local ice cream or candy shops

You don't have to buy something at every stop.

Sometimes just walking around and enjoying the atmosphere is half the fun!

❤️ OUR FRIDAY NIGHT TIP:

Don't stay out so late that you're exhausted Saturday morning.

Because Saturday is when the real adventure begins!

🌄 SATURDAY — THE BEST OF GATLINBURG AND THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS!

⏰ 7:00 AM — GET UP EARLY!

YES, EVEN ON VACATION! 😂

Here's why...

Gatlinburg at 7 AM and Gatlinburg at 2 PM can feel like TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PLACES!

Early in the morning, traffic is lighter, parking is easier and the mountains can be absolutely beautiful.

And during busy season, getting an early start can save you HOURS.

🥞 7:30 AM — BREAKFAST!

Now here's where the arguments are going to start!

OUR FAVORITE GATLINBURG BREAKFAST OPTIONS:

🥇 Pancake Pantry — A Gatlinburg tradition and one of our favorites.

🥈 Crockett's Breakfast Camp — Known for hearty portions and a mountain atmosphere.

🥉 Flapjack's Pancake Cabin — A longtime favorite with multiple area locations.

🍳 Log Cabin Pancake House — Another classic Gatlinburg breakfast stop.

If you arrive later in the morning, expect a wait at the popular places.

That's why we recommend going EARLY!

🏔️ 9:00 AM — HEAD INTO GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

And here's something we think EVERY visitor should do...

DON'T SPEND YOUR ENTIRE GATLINBURG VACATION ON THE PARKWAY!

You're visiting one of the most beautiful mountain regions in the country.

GO SEE THE MOUNTAINS!

Our first stop would be Sugarlands Visitor Center.

It's a great place to get oriented, ask about current trail conditions and learn more about the park.

Then we'd head toward Newfound Gap.

🚗 10:00 AM — NEWFOUND GAP SCENIC DRIVE

This is one of the most beautiful drives in the Smokies.

You'll experience changing elevations, mountain overlooks and incredible scenery.

And depending on the weather, you might see clouds floating between the mountains.

Stop at designated overlooks.

Take pictures.

Enjoy the views.

And don't rush!

If the road and seasonal access are open, you could also continue toward Kuwohi, formerly known as Clingmans Dome.

Just remember...

The walk to the observation tower is short but STEEP!

And weather at higher elevations can be dramatically different from downtown Gatlinburg.

🚨 IMPORTANT!

Great Smoky Mountains National Park does not charge an entrance fee.

However, if you're parking for more than 15 minutes, you'll generally need a parking tag.

And during busy weekends, popular parking areas fill up FAST.

🍔 12:30 PM — LUNCH BACK IN GATLINBURG

After a morning in the mountains, you'll probably be ready to eat!

A few places we'd consider:

🍔 Local Goat — A favorite over in Pigeon Forge if you don't mind the extra drive.

🍖 Myron Mixon BBQ — Right in downtown Gatlinburg for barbecue.

🥪 Tennessee Jed's — A good option for sandwiches and a more casual lunch.

🍽️ The Old Mill Restaurant — Another option if you're willing to head into Pigeon Forge.

But here's OUR advice...

If you're spending the weekend in Gatlinburg, don't waste an hour driving to Pigeon Forge just for lunch unless there's somewhere you REALLY want to eat.

Keep it simple!

🎢 2:00 PM — PICK ONE MAJOR ATTRACTION! (They take time to do)

Notice we said ONE!

Not five.

Not seven.

ONE! 😂

Because here's where a lot of visitors make a mistake.

They try to squeeze Anakeesta, the SkyBridge, Ripley's Aquarium and Ober Mountain into one afternoon.

Then they spend most of their time standing in lines!

Instead, we'd choose ONE of these:

🌲 ANAKEESTA — Beautiful mountain views, gardens, treetop experiences and attractions.

🌉 GATLINBURG SKYPARK — Walk across the SkyBridge and enjoy views overlooking Gatlinburg.

🐠 RIPLEY'S AQUARIUM OF THE SMOKIES — A great family attraction and especially useful on rainy days.

🚠 OBER MOUNTAIN — Mountain activities and scenic views, with offerings that vary by season.

Our choice would depend on the weather, crowd levels and who we're traveling with.

And here's a little secret...

If you're visiting during peak season, buying tickets in advance and arriving early can make a BIG difference.

🌄 5:00 PM — TAKE A BREAK!

YES, WE'RE ACTUALLY RECOMMENDING A BREAK!

Go back to your cabin or hotel.

Relax.

Take a shower.

Sit on the balcony.

Enjoy the mountains.

Because sometimes the BEST part of a Smoky Mountain vacation is doing absolutely nothing.

🍽️ 7:00 PM — DINNER AND A LITTLE MORE GATLINBURG

For Saturday evening, we'd either enjoy another good restaurant or keep it casual.

And if you're staying in a cabin?

Sometimes cooking dinner and sitting outside watching the mountains is better than fighting the crowds!

Especially after a busy day.

🌙 9:00 PM — ENJOY THE EVENING

Walk downtown if you still have energy.

Find somewhere to enjoy dessert.

Or head back to your cabin and relax.

Because tomorrow is another day!

🌲 SUNDAY — THE QUIETER SIDE OF THE SMOKIES!

Here's where we'd do things a little differently.

Instead of trying to cram in another expensive attraction, we'd spend Sunday enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

🥞 8:00 AM — BREAKFAST AND COFFEE

Grab breakfast before the crowds arrive.

Or enjoy coffee on your cabin porch.

Sometimes the simplest mornings are the best ones.

🚗 9:00 AM — ROARING FORK MOTOR NATURE TRAIL

If it's open during your visit, this is one of our favorite scenic drives near Gatlinburg.

You'll find:

🌲 Beautiful forests
💦 Mountain streams
🏡 Historic cabins
🐻 Opportunities to spot wildlife from a safe distance
📸 Incredible scenery

It's a narrow, one-way road, so take your time.

And remember, Roaring Fork closes seasonally and can be affected by weather.

Don't assume it's open without checking first!

If it's closed, consider a different accessible scenic drive or a short nature walk.

🏔️ 11:00 AM — ONE LAST MOUNTAIN STOP

Before heading home, we'd choose something relaxing.

Maybe:

💦 A short walk near Sugarlands

🌲 A quiet spot beside a mountain stream

📸 One last scenic overlook

🏡 A visit to a historic area inside the national park

Or maybe just a little more time enjoying the cabin before checkout.

Because here's something we've noticed...

Everybody remembers the big attractions.

But sometimes the moments you remember MOST are the quiet ones.

❤️ AND THAT'S OUR PERFECT GATLINBURG WEEKEND!

But we're not finished!

🚨 HERE ARE 10 THINGS WE THINK EVERY GATLINBURG VISITOR SHOULD KNOW!

1️⃣ DON'T TRY TO DO EVERYTHING!

You can't see all of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 48 hours.

Pick your priorities.

2️⃣ ARRIVE EARLY!

Especially for breakfast, popular attractions and national park parking areas.

3️⃣ WALK WHEN YOU CAN!

If you're staying downtown, walking can save you time and parking expenses.

4️⃣ DON'T UNDERESTIMATE OCTOBER!

Fall foliage season can bring some of the heaviest crowds of the year.

5️⃣ CHECK ATTRACTION HOURS!

Some attractions operate on seasonal schedules, and hours can change.

6️⃣ CHECK NATIONAL PARK ROAD CLOSURES!

Mountain weather can change quickly.

7️⃣ DON'T APPROACH BLACK BEARS!

Stay at least 50 yards away inside the national park.

And NEVER feed them!

8️⃣ BUDGET FOR PARKING!

Downtown Gatlinburg parking can be expensive, and national park parking tags are separate.

9️⃣ DON'T WASTE YOUR WHOLE WEEKEND IN TRAFFIC!

Sometimes staying in one area instead of constantly driving between towns is the smartest move.

🔟 LEAVE TIME TO RELAX!

You're in the SMOKY MOUNTAINS!

Sit beside a stream.

Watch the sunset.

Enjoy the view from your cabin.

You don't need to spend money every minute to have an amazing vacation.

💰 NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT SOMETHING IMPORTANT...

HOW MUCH DOES A GATLINBURG WEEKEND REALLY COST?

That depends on how you vacation!

Some families spend hundreds of dollars every day on attractions, restaurants and shopping.

Others spend most of their time enjoying the national park, walking downtown and relaxing at their cabin.

And here's what we always tell people...

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SPEND A FORTUNE TO ENJOY THE SMOKIES!

A beautiful mountain view doesn't cost $50 per person.

A scenic drive doesn't require an attraction ticket.

And some of the best memories you'll make won't involve spending anything at all.

❤️ THAT'S WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT THIS AREA!

You can have an exciting weekend full of attractions.

Or you can have a quiet weekend surrounded by nature.

Or a little bit of BOTH!

And that's exactly how we'd plan it.

🔥 NOW HERE'S WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP!

WE JUST GAVE YOU OUR ULTIMATE GATLINBURG WEEKEND...

BUT WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE?

👇 YOU ONLY HAVE 48 HOURS IN GATLINBURG!

WHAT ARE THREE THINGS YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST DO?

Would you:

🥞 Eat at Pancake Pantry?
🌉 Walk the SkyBridge?
🌲 Visit Anakeesta?
🏔️ Drive through the national park?
🍖 Eat at your favorite restaurant?
🐻 Look for black bears safely?
🏡 Or spend the entire weekend relaxing at a cabin?

AND HERE'S THE BIG QUESTION...

WOULD YOU RATHER SPEND $500 ON ATTRACTIONS OR $500 ON A BETTER CABIN WITH AN INCREDIBLE MOUNTAIN VIEW? 👀😂

🚨 SWAT STANDOFF AT KODAK MOTEL ENDS WITH WANTED MAN IN CUSTODY

An early Friday morning standoff at a motel in Kodak ended with a man being taken into custody after law enforcement responded to the location.

According to information released by the City of Sevierville and reported by WATE 6 News in Knoxville, the man was wanted on multiple felony warrants.

A SWAT team was involved in the incident, which ended with the suspect's arrest early Friday morning.

Thankfully, the situation was brought to an end without the need for a prolonged search for the wanted individual.

Kodak is usually associated with travelers heading toward the Smoky Mountains, Interstate 40 and the busy Exit 407 area, so news of a SWAT standoff at a local motel is certainly going to get people's attention.

Incidents like this are also a reminder that law enforcement officers sometimes face dangerous and unpredictable situations while serving warrants and attempting to take wanted individuals into custody.

We'll share additional verified details if authorities release more information about the incident.

🚨 DID ANYONE IN THE KODAK OR EXIT 407 AREA NOTICE THE POLICE ACTIVITY EARLY FRIDAY MORNING?

We'd like to hear from anyone who was in the area, but please keep the discussion respectful and avoid spreading unconfirmed information.
