Stabbing Investigation Underway On Boulevard; Suspect Quickly Taken Into Custody

Shreveport, LA — A reported shooting Wednesday night turned out to be a stabbing after officers arrived and discovered the victim had suffered stab wounds instead of gunshot wounds.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 9:03 p.m., Shreveport Police responded to Boulevard near Thornhill Avenue after receiving an initial report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male who was determined to have been stabbed. The Shreveport Fire Department transported the victim to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment.

While officers were investigating the scene, they received information that the suspect was approximately one block away near Boulevard and Line Avenue.

Officers quickly responded to that location and took the suspect into custody. Police determined the suspect had also sustained injuries during the incident, and the Shreveport Fire Department responded to evaluate him at the scene.

Preliminary information indicates the stabbing may have stemmed from a dispute involving a current boyfriend and a former boyfriend. Detectives emphasize the investigation is still in its early stages, and details could change as additional evidence is gathered.

The investigation remains ongoing.
