Great presentation this morning at BNI Referrals of Integrity!

Clay Barnes with Republic Bank was our featured speaker and gave us a look at what makes Republic a little different.

They have all the technology you’d expect — online and mobile banking, mobile deposits, Zelle, card controls, money-management tools and more — but what really stood out to me is the emphasis on relationship banking.

You can have all the convenience of modern banking while still having an actual local banker you know and can call when you need something.

Clay also shared some of the ways Republic is working to be competitive and earn new business, but ultimately I think the real advantage is having technology AND a relationship, rather than having to choose between the two.

And that’s one of my favorite things about BNI. Every Tuesday we get to learn enough about another member’s business that when somebody asks, “Do you know a good banker?” we don’t just have a name — we know who we’re referring and why.

This morning at BNI Referrals of Integrity, Joe Pangallo of CrossFit Spring Hill gave us a look behind the scenes at how he runs his business — including how he leverages technology to manage much of his back office so he can spend more time doing what he does best: coaching people.

Joe also shared that CrossFit Spring Hill has a Bring a Friend promotion going on right now.

This week at BNI Referrals of Integrity, our featured speaker was Will Purvis with Rex Roofing.

Will shared what makes Rex Roofing different. They offer no-haggle pricing, provide financing options, and believe customers should know the price up front—before the work begins. They also serve homeowners across Middle Tennessee, including Williamson, Maury, Rutherford, Dickson, Cheatham, and Davidson counties, and they don’t shy away from the rural communities that larger companies sometimes overlook.

One of my favorite takeaways wasn’t about roofing—it was about branding.

Instead of making the company all about himself, Will built the Rex Roofing brand around Rex the dinosaur. The mascot becomes memorable, approachable, and recognizable, allowing the business to stand on its own rather than depending on one person’s name or personality.

That’s one of the things I enjoy about BNI. Every week we learn something from another business owner that we can apply to our own businesses.

Great presentation this morning from Dr. Ciaran Cullen at BNI Referrals of Integrity.

One of the things I enjoyed most was hearing about his background. Before becoming a chiropractor, Ciaran was a competitive powerlifter, restaurant owner, professor, entrepreneur, and even trained as a French chef.

At first glance, those experiences seem unrelated, but the common thread was a focus on performance, discipline, and helping people achieve better outcomes.

One of the takeaways for me was that health is rarely about one thing. It’s about balance. Movement, nutrition, recovery, mindset, and consistency all play a role.

If you know someone dealing with pain, mobility issues, or looking to improve their overall health and wellness, Dr. Ciaran Cullen is a great resource and an excellent addition to our chapter.

This week we had the pleasure of hearing Benjamin Wisdom with the Wisdom insurance agency educate us about all things during the summer and how the summer holds the record for most insurance accidents . He is extremely knowledgeable and we always learn something new ever.

Great update from Wesley Jordan this morning on the health insurance marketplace.

With subsidy changes this year, a lot of people are re-evaluating their ACA plans and looking at private options.
