Do you have any interest in real estate, entrepreneurship, or being financially free to the point of working only because you want to? If so, I hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity coming to campus on Tuesday, March 1st in the Business Department Lounge (2nd floor Locklin).

The Springfield College Business Club will be hosting Dr. Linda Peters as our next guest speaker. She is a professor at the University of Massachusetts and a high net worth expert in real estate acquisition and analysis. She has also served as a national equity partner in a billion dollar real estate trust with over 16,000 residential units in 28 states.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 AM, so plan ahead of time to get out of your classes a few minutes early. Extra credit may be offered by business professors to students who attend the event. From 12-1 PM, we will hear the story of Dr. Peters and learn as much as we can from her experiences. After the event, the team from the Marketing and Communications Department will take some photos for us; one of these photos will be used as the photo of the day for the school’s website, so look nice!

Investing is an important art to understand that will complement any career. Real estate offers a form of investing that is arguably more creative and entrepreneurial than other investment strategies. Please email Troy Ward ([email protected]) if you plan on attending. We hope to see you there!

Meet the Springfield College Business Club Treasurer, Duncan Galpin! (right)

Duncan is a senior from Essex, Connecticut and a double major in finance and marketing! He curently holds a GPA of 3.3 and just started his internship with City Hall! Recently, Duncan founded the Springfield College Rock Climbing Club and holds the title of its first ever president!

Duncan has been an active member of the Business Club and while pursuing his MBA next year, he hopes to continue participating and advising the next generation of e-board members!

Thanks so much for all of your hard work and dedication Duncan! You inspire all of us on the board to achieve goals that seem beyond our reach! :)

Meet the Springfield College Business Club Secretary, Jordyn Moquin!

Jordyn is a Junior from Southington, CT and this is her first year on the Business Club E-board! She transferred from Mercy College her sophomore year and she's currently a double major in Accounting and Finance with a GPA of 3.9.

Jordyn is a member of the Springfield College Softball team, and holds an internship with LEGO in Enfield, CT. She consistently makes Dean's List and was awarded the Abdow Academic Achievement last year!

We're so proud to have her as part of our team, and she's done nothing but impress us with her organizational skills and dedication! :)

The Springfield College Business Club has recently joined forces with Suit Up Springfield, an awesome community organization focused on guiding the young men of Springfield, MA on professional attire and becoming professionally minded!

Today was the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open Springfield College's new office in the One Financial Plaza of downtown Springfield. This is a very exciting step for the college that will provide us with various opportunities to expand downtown.

Introducing the Vice President of the Springfield College Business Club, Jonathan Stone!

Jon is a Business Management major with a concentration in Marketing. He has made the Dean's List the last 3 semesters and currently holds a GPA of 3.2. A cook at Fazio's Restaurant, Jon has lived in East Longmeadow all his life and is active in the community through soup kitchens and the Relay For Life! This is Jon's first year as a member of the Springfield College Business Club E-board.

We are thrilled to have him as our VP and so fortunate he chose to run for a leadership position! :D

The time has finally come! We will be holding our first full club meeting this Thursday at 12 pm in the 2nd floor business lounge of Locklin. This is a chance for interested students of all majors to meet the E-board and find out what we've been planning for this year. On top of all that, we will be having Laurie Wrona from the Career Center come in to talk to us about how to be successful at the upcoming internship fair. Don't forget to come early and get a free slice of PIZZA!

Meet the President of the Springfield College Business Club, Troy Ward Jr.!

Troy is a Finance and Management major with a current GPA of 4.0, a Resident Assistant in the Living Center, and a salesman for Men's Wearhouse. He is also in Springfield College's committee for community engagement!

Last year, Troy was awarded the Abdow Award, an academic award that recognizes high levels of achievement in the Business Management major, and was chosen as Student Trustee Elect. He was also previously in charge of PR/Marketing for the Business Club!

Troy is a huge asset to the team, and we're very lucky to have him as our president! :D
