Having updated headshots that authentically capture who you are and what you represent is just as essential as sharing your skills and expertise. In today’s fast-paced, digital-first world, people are drawn not only to what you know but to who you are—and visuals make that first impression count.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Diane, an accomplished operations executive, to refresh her personal brand. For her professional image, we created a headshot that showcases her confidence, leadership, and approachability—the perfect combination to represent her executive role. But we didn’t stop there! Diane also wanted to share a warmer, more personal side for her social media, and we crafted a relaxed, friendly portrait that still feels authentically “her.”

Updating headshots is about more than aesthetics; it’s about aligning your visuals with your values and personality, giving you a way to truly connect with your audience.

In March 2019, a colleague and I transformed my old photo studio into a makeshift recording space, built from thrifted blankets and sound gear, to launch Finish the Fight: A Gaming Podcast. What started as a passion project about Bungie’s Halo, with no expectations of building an audience, quickly gained traction beyond what we ever imagined.

Now, five years and countless episodes later, we’ve recorded our final show. It has been an incredible, challenging, and rewarding experience. From engaging with fans, creating content for Patreon, Twitch, and social media, to designing merch and maintaining a consistent publishing schedule—this podcast became much more than just a side project.

A few highlights as we sunset the podcast:
• Broke into Apple’s top 100 leisure podcasts
• Over 400,000 streams across the globe
• Interviewed industry veterans from the gaming world
• Built a fanbase worldwide and started a small podcast network

Special thanks to Derek Baker for co-hosting and editing, Evan Barr for episode writing, Discord moderation, and our intro and outro music, and Erin Shadduck for our amazing artwork.

This journey has opened my eyes to the vast potential of digital media and introduced me to an incredible community of creators and fans. I’m proud of what we’ve built, and I’m grateful for every listener who has tuned in.

A look back at one of my favorite personal branding shoots with .

Earlier in our careers, Jeannie and I exchanged personal branding photography sessions to test some lighting concepts and to put a face to our respective photography businesses. With Jeannie’s shoot, we wanted to focus on a bright and airy aesthetic with a bit of experimentation with foreground elements.

I absolutely loved working on this project and being able to create a personal visual brand that brings out the personality in every image.

Whether it’s for a website, social media, or any other outlet, these are the kinds of photography sessions that truly drive that creative energy.

We wanted to show that creativity flows not just within the office but also in the personal lives of each team member at . When we updated their headshots, we wanted to go beyond the standard professional image and capture a little piece of what makes each person unique.

These headshots not only showcase the talent and energy of the team but also give a glimpse into their passions outside of work—whether it’s a love for reading, cooking, pets, or travel. By reflecting their hobbies and interests, we created a more dynamic, personal connection that speaks to who they are as individuals.

When you bring a team together that’s full of creativity both inside and outside the office, it strengthens the company culture and builds a deeper connection with clients.
