Rituals in Japan - Pt. 3

This shrine was located on Mt. Takao in Hachiōji Japan. The tippy top reached 599 metres and along the way was a small town of worship. Up the stairs in this image was a tunnel leading to a shrine. I actually didn’t make it to the very top because i was taking my time snapping pictures of their nature, it got dark and i was solo hiking with little Japanese language skills... but it was such a incredible and peaceful journey.

Rituals in Japan - Pt. 2.

This shrine was within walking distance from our temp home in Japan. I found out afterwards that you're not supposed to take photographs inside of a shrine. I kind of figured by the vibe though so im happy with the images i did get to capture including this one of a ritual offering site with a buddhist ceremony occurring in the back.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of getting my art at In the Paint with Darrell Walker, PigmentIntl.com and Tracie H., Owner of Rootwork Gallery. Check out what I captured during and be sure to look into each of these black woman owned businesses.

On July 20th, Pigment International welcomed, professional basketball coach and fine-art collector, Darrell Walker, to Loyola University's campus.

There, they curated an art exhibit with the resident artist of Pigment International and an intimate salon talk with owner of Rootwork Gallery, Tracie Hall.

Grateful for everyone that came out and attended the opening night of my very first, solo curated, photography exhibit. I sold a piece, watched great connections being made and saw black photographers light up with affirmation.
