Thank you for the memories and where I became a forever entrepreneur š„° Iām thankful for my parents. Not only for their love but they have shown that hard work, ability to adjust your business model and overcome obstacles is critical in owning a business over 50 years. The campground started in the 70s and it defiantly changed in the 80s and the 90s brought a flood to rebuild and the 2000s brought changing the model to permanent spots. Many obstacles to overcome over the years, however they continued on. The time has come that they can retire on their terms ⦠and in amazing health! Iām forever thankful for the jobs I had growing up from picking up trash and āhiringā the kids in the campground , you would have thought it was the best job! Also, Iām 99% sure I may have invented the twist ice cream cone at our ice cream shop š¤£
After more than 50 years, our family is passing the campground on to its new owners, Chris and Brandon Berry. The land has been part of our family for over 100 years, and in 1972 Roy and Sherry Wood purchased the campground from Royās mom. Bayview became far more than a business ā it became a vacation tradition for so many families. Weāve watched children who once spent their summers here return as adults with families of their own.
We have met countless wonderful people over the years, campers who shared stories, laughter, and moments that stayed with us long after each season ended. Many became like family, and those relationships are what made this place special.
Letting go is bittersweet, but itās time to retire with full and grateful hearts. We are deeply thankful for every person who camped with us, supported us, and helped turn this campground into a place filled with lifelong memories.
