Sorry everyone I meant to post about this shoot and invite you all.
On this shoot we had an awesome location and an amazing car thanks to Jeff! so we shot a Porsche 944 turbo. on this outing we learned a lot about framing, location and light painting! also Adam Hightower got an amazing drone shot!

Here is just a very small piece of our outing this weekend!
I just wanted to share how everyone is somewhat fooled by big numbers and genius marketing.

When you go to purchase a new camera, whether you're replacing an old one or buying your first step onto an expensive trail. Everyone's first question seems to be "what is the megapixel count for this camera?" while this is a important question, in my opinion the answer is over valued. Starting small and moving up you'll be able to see huge changes from a 5MP camera VS. and 18 or 24MP camera. but as the figures get larger and into the numbers that we now come to expect from our gear as a minimum, the digital difference in quality has seemed to slow down with the higher megapixel senors. below are two examples, one has a equivalent or similar megapixel count to the High end Professional DSLR's. The other is an outrageous image quality equivalent to nearly 300 MP. (facebook compression of image may occur) but you can hardly tell them apart even with more than 200 pixels per inch of a difference.

Now there are many variables such as quality of lenses that will make a huge difference in the outcome of a higher megapixel camera. not to mention the actual print size difference of the two images at 300dpi.

But long story short, don't stress about the megapixel count of your camera. Its much more important to have knowledge and good lenses over the most expensive camera body.
