Can you eat whatever you want without gaining weight and stay healthy? That’s a question we all probably ask ourselves (this blog is about healthy desserts, so we’re all interested in clean eating to some extent).
Here’s my perspective, based on experience, sometimes tough on health:
1️⃣ You can eat anything, but in moderation and wisely.
Severe restrictions often lead to bigger relapses, and nobody needs setbacks.
2️⃣ Pay attention to ingredients and choose the «cleanest» options. The shorter the ingredient list, the easier it is for the body to digest. A mix of ingredients makes digestion harder and longer.
3️⃣ Only eat when you’re ready to eat even a crust of bread.
Food often serves as entertainment and a source of comfort, but it’s crucial to consider the body’s actual needs. Less processed foods are more filling and satisfying.
4️⃣ Eat intuitively. If I crave something, I wait a day. If I still want it, I eat it.
5️⃣ Eat without guilt. Even if you’ve indulged in something unhealthy, praise and thank yourself for the treat. It will be digested faster and more easily (I’ve checked).
6️⃣ Game changer: eat sweets *before* your main meal, at least an hour ahead.
Sweets always digest first, so if you eat dessert after dinner, it will disrupt digestion and lead to bloating and poor nutrient absorption.
Eat wisely and choose ‘clean’ foods with short ingredient lists! For instance, Sunny Cake.
